Chris Brown publicly expressed his regret and sorrow to Robert Glasper after displaying a fit of anger on the internet due to the latter’s triumph at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
Chris Brown Apologises After Asking ‘Who The F**k Is Robert Glasper’ Following The Latter’s Grammy Win
Brown showed his fury after being refused the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album, as he admitted he hadn’t even heard of Robert’s music.
Chris had been suggested for his Deluxe album, yet Glasper and his Black Radio III album in the end got the honour. This didn’t concur with Chris, as he believed that Robert was not deserving of claiming such an honour.
Not only that, but out of the 21 Grammy Award nominations he has gotten, Chris just won one in 2012 for his album F.A.M.E. As such, there was an inclination on his end that he was being treated unfairly.
With that being said, Brown did not hold back. In his comments at the time, he remarked: “Who the f**k is Robert Glasper? Yall playing. Ima keep kicking yall a** Respectfully.”
But now that the dust has settled, Brown sought to take his comments back. This is understandable given that it will minimise the damage that has been done to his reputation.
After all, he did come across as being jealous. In addition, his prior comments may simply have been stated in the heat of the moment at a time where Brown became overwhelmed.
In his apology, Brown posted a screenshot of a DM he sent to Glasper. It read: “Congratulations my brother.. I would like to apologize if you took offense to my reaction at the Grammys.
“After doing my research I actually think your [sic] amazing. THE ORGANIZATION ISN’T DOING US BLACKS OUR DUE DILIGENCE. YOU AND I SHOULD never be in the same categor[y].”
It is great to see Brown moving on from the disappointment. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
