As we all already know, South Park, the animated series dedicated a whole episode to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The episode named ‘The Worldwide Privacy Tour’ features the Prince of Canada, and his ‘annoying wife’, who take on TV shows and public appearances to complain about the fact they don’t have privacy.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to make the move to the USA in order to seek ‘privacy’. However, as it shows, it is more like to seek business endeavors. In recent months, we witnessed the publication of Prince Harry’s controversial memoir ‘Spare’ and the airing of their Netflix Series. What the publications did is quite opposite of privacy. Nevertheless, they were also advertised as tell-all stories revealing private details from their lives.
Megan Markle is Very Upset About South Park Episode Portraying her as ‘the Annoying Wife’
According to some reports that emerged after the South Park episode aired, the Duchess is ‘mad’ at the creators of the series. Reportedly, she is ‘disgusted and overwhelmed’ by the episode and is ‘upset’ to the point where she ‘refused to watch the whole thing’. Of course, the next thing would be a lawsuit. Meghan Markle didn’t hesitate when filing lawsuits before, why start now?
“His legal team is watching the episode closely to see what went wrong and what could turn into something more sinister. This seems to be their course of action instead of laughing it off, enjoying the moment and showing the world that they understand that he made the joke.” – a source told The Spectator.
From the other side, South Park has their end covered. They are not using real names and have a disclaimer showing ‘all resemblance is purely accidental’. The episode is not explicitly naming the couple but instead names them the Canadian Royals. In the story of the episode the Prince and Princess of Canada move to South Park to seek privacy.
Nevertheless, the storyline includes the ‘wife’ which Markle presumes represents her. The cartoon describes the character as a “sorority girl, actress, influencer, and victim”. So yes, we can conclude that this is a very specific description that fits Meghan Markle well.
During the episode, the Prince of Canada and his wife appear on a TV show with a banner asking for privacy. The scene starts with the host of the show asking Prince Harry, pardon, the Prince of Canada, about his wife. “Sir, doesn’t your suspicious wife really have her own TV show, celebrity dates and a fashion magazine?” – the host asks. “I just thought some people might say that your Instagram-loving bitch doesn’t really want her privacy.” – the host added.
“Sir, how dare you! My bitchy Instagram-loving wife always wanted her privacy!” – the Prince responded. “We just want to be normal people, and all this attention is hard.”
