The controversial social media figure, Andrew Tate, is in the hot water again. It just isn’t going according to his plan as the authorities keep him in prison for an additional 30 days.
The court in Romania made a decision to extend Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate’s incarceration for additional 30 days. The Romanian authorities incarcerated them on suspicion that they are part of an organized crime group that takes part in human trafficking.
Andrew Tate Will be Held in Jail for 30 More Days
Andrew Tate became famous ‘overnight’ when he started promoting ‘toxic’ masculinity over social media. His ‘reign’ as the star of social media lasted short. On December 29, just before the new year, the Romanian police went to Tate’s property in Bucharest. They arrested Andrew, Tristan Tate, and two ladies that happened to be with them. According to the Romanian authorities, there are no formal charges against any of the four.
Ramona Bolla, a spokesperson for an anti-organized crime organization in Romania, DIICOT recently gave clearance on the situation of the Tate brothers. According to her, the Bucharest Tribunal granted the prosecutor’s plea to keep Andrew and his brother in custody for an additional 30 days.
This is the third 30-day extension for their incarceration that takes place. Andrew Tate also lost his appeal of the judge’s decision to extend their jail time past month.
The reason they are being kept in prison, according to the judge working on the case is that both Andrew Tate and Tristan are “particular dangerousness of the defendants”.
Eugen Vidineac, one of Tate’s attorneys told reporters that the legal team will oppose any further extension of Tates’ jail time. According to him, there is not enough evidence to keep them locked in in the first place. Furthermore, he claims that the defense “essentially immobilized the evidence”.
Andrew Tate initially became a star after he started sharing controversial opinions on social media. After that, he moved to guest at podcasts, hence further spreading his ‘toxic’ views on the world. The controversial character moved to Romania in 2017. Since then, he received several social media bans and has been censored to a point where he wasn’t allowed on any mainstream platform.
During this time, when he is in jail, he constantly pushes the narrative that the authorities hold him up because they want to silence him. He ensures his audience that he is innocent and didn’t do anything wrong.
“I can easily think myself into euphoric gratefulness for things as simple as having air to breathe. I can easily think myself into the deepest and darkest depression. I’ve seen hell. I’ve lived in hell. I can produce either state.” – Tate tweeted after the third extension of his incarceration.
