AEW Dynamite rolls on. We see a dramatic vignette building up Jon Moxley vs. Jake Hager, an upcoming AEW World Championship title match. We hear from Mox, Hager and Jericho. Hager doesn’t think Moxley knows what’s coming to him. Mox says he’s the most marked man in the industry since everyone wants to take away his title and that pisses him off. Talks about knowing Hager well and understanding that he can seperate consciousness from his body in a moment. Hager claims that he knows Moxley is below him, not as strong as him. Sammy Guevara talks up Hager’s undefeated streak in both AEW and MMA. Mox says he likes playing dangerous games, living a dangerous life. These are things he lives for.
He sought out Jake Hager, didn’t wait for him to challenge him.
Jon Moxley knew the Inner Circle would send the big gun after him eventually, so he’s coming to him first. Sammy says if Hager wants to be AEW World Champion, they will all be AEW World Champion as the Inner Circle. Jericho says he has a rematch but he’s not using it yet because he wants Hager to become the champion. They’re not like the Elite, they’re unified. They don’t bicker with each other, hit each other with their finishes. If Hager takes the title, that’s great to Jericho ’cause it puts Mox in his place and gives the Inner Circle two world champions. Hager guarantees that Moxley will get everything that Jake Hager has. Moxley says he may be a monster truck but there’s a formula, there’s an Achilles Heel, he’ll find a way. He’s not looking for applause or a standing ovation after this match, he’s just looking to fight Jake Hager.
Pretty cool video, I’m glad they’re not just letting this come across like a filler match, it’s worthy of it’s own vignette. The AEW World title match is made official and evidently it’s No Holds Barred, set to take place in two weeks! It’s evidently already been taped in advance according to Jim Ross. From the very few who would know, I’ve heard some good things about it. I can only assume the two of them will be beating the absolute crap out of each other in an intense scrap, and it’s certainly not hard to see that working out.
