Toni Storm is already calling herself the greatest AEW Women’s World Champion of all time, having entered her second reign at Double Or Nothing when she defeated an injured Jamie Hayter.
She intends to prove this tonight, as she makes her first defense of the reign. Skye Blue would defy the odds on AEW Rampage, winning a Fatal Four Way match to earn her first chance to become champion.
Having defeated Britt Baker, Mercedes Martinez and Nyla Rose to earn this shot – Blue isn’t about to let it go to waste, and is potentially three seconds from being recognized as champion.
Orange Cassidy Is Friends With An NJPW Legend And Current ROH Champion
Before this match, we’d catch up with Orange Cassidy. He was being asked who will challenge him for the AEW International Championship – and NJPW Television Champion Zack Sabre Jr would approach him. ZSJ wanted to become a double champion, and so does Daniel Garcia.
Garcia mentioned wanting the International Championship and the ROH Pure Rules Championship – held by Katsuyori Shibata.
Cassidy would casually suggest a tag team match next Wednesday, putting him and Shibata against Garcia & ZSJ. It’s likely to become official, and could set the stage for a Fatal Four Way match at Forbidden Door.
Toni Storm Crushes The Golden Dreams Of Skye Blue
Blue would quickly attack Storm as the title match would begin, trying to catch the champion off guard. A diving crossbody would land, but only got a two count.
The hip attack would land on Storm, who got in the face of Blue’s mom at ringside – who got sprayed in the face with green paint. Blue would fire up, and took out Storm & Ruby Soho with a suicide dive.
Storm would gain the upperhand on the floor, setting up Blue by the barricade and hit a running hip attack shortly after.
Back in the ring, Blue would be slammed down for a near fall. Storm hit a snap suplex, before Blue was swatted in the face by a cutout of Saraya – who was absent tonight.
Blue would take down Storm with a headscissor takedown, before a Blue Justice knee in the ropes. Storm countered a hip attack and shoved Blue to the floor, and grabbed some spray paint. Blue was ready for this, and as Soho distracted the referee – used her own can of paint.
Superkick and Code Blue would follow, and Blue got a visual pinfall – but the referee was not still distracted by Soho. Storm Zero Piledriver & Texas Cloverleaf would follow, and Blue was defeated. After the bell, the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale would rush the ring – driving The Outcasts away.
After the match – Jack Perry would accept the open challenge of SANADA, wanting to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. He would ask for HOOK in his corner – and HOOK would agree.
The Hung Bucks vs. Blackpool Combat Club
Hangman Page & The Young Bucks are finally back together, with Page reuniting with The Elite ahead of Double Or Nothing 2023. While Anarchy In The Arena didn’t get the result The Elite wanted, they’re not done with Blackpool Combat Club just yet.
After seeing Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli defeat CHAOS last week in trios action, Page & The Young Bucks would announce their return to the trios ranks.
The Young Bucks were dressed in cowboy gear to match with Page – who took a leader role with The Elite tonight. Moxley & Page got face to face immediately, with a triple superkick landing on The Elite.
Yuta took a powerbomb onto the apron, Nick Jackson dove onto Castagnoli, and Page onto Moxley. The Young Bucks held Yuta up on the apron, and Page hit the running Shooting Star Press.
Back into the ring, Moxley would gain the upperhand in a brawl, but was taken down by the speed of The Young Bucks. Nick Jackson hit a slingshot facebuster on Moxley, before diving onto Claudio, only to take a big uppercut.
Page would dive onto Moxley, and Matt was shortly behind. Matt would try for the tag, but Yuta yanked him off the apron and into a German Suplex.
Moxley hit the King Kong Lariat and a Piledriver, getting a two count on Nick. Claudio got the tag and threw Nick around, before Yuta applied an Indian Deathlock and bridged back into a tag. Claudio took the tag and hit a double stomp – getting a near fall.
The Elite Get A Much Needed Win Over The Blackpool Combat Club
Moxley would hang Nick up in the corner before mocking him. The Delayed Vertical Suplex would land, before Moxley applied the Kimura Lock. Nick would fight free and look to break across the ring for the tag, but was pulled back by Moxley.
A dropkick would land, and Page got the tag. Moxley would potentially suffer an elbow injury, before Page would toss Yuta with a Fallaway Slam.
Claudio was sent to the floor and hit with a dive, with Yuta following – who Page also hit with a dive. Page came off the top rope with a lariat, getting a two count.
A powerbomb into the corner was worsened by a set of enziguri’s from The Young Bucks. Matt would hit the Locomotion Northern Lights Suplexes, even catching Moxley with the last Suplex.
Moxley would catch Nick with a cutter before being dropped with a superkick. Yuta would catch Matt with a German Suplex, as Moxley tossed Page into the steel steps.
Getting the tag, Moxley would get Claudio to set up the Doomsday Device, and would complete the lariat. Rear Naked Choke was applied, and Nick broke this up by diving over Claudio with a Swanton Bomb.
Claudio would hit a chokeslam before tagging in Yuta – trying for the Rocket Launcher. Nick got his knees up, and the Bucks invited BCC to a superkick party.
Pop Up Powerbomb and BTE Trigger set up the Buckshot – and this match was over. This is the first trios loss from this BCC unit – and they didn’t take it well.
Complete Chaos Following The Main Event
After the bell, the BCC would attack – beating The Elite down. The music of Eddie Kingston would hit, as he returned to AEW. Kingston & Castagnoli have a decade worth of beef, and he’d run him down. Kingston would hit the Uraken on Yuta & Castagnoli before coming face to face with a former ally in Moxley.
Kingston hesitated to attack Moxley, allowing Konosuke Takeshita to sneak out and hit Kingston from behind. The next song to hit was that of Kenny Omega – who would rush down Takeshita with a V-Trigger.
Superkick Party would be followed by a Superkick Party. Page & The Bucks kept everyone else at bay, as Omega hit another V-Trigger before taking a hook kick from Will Ospreay.
No one knew where Ospreay came from, but a Hidden Blade elbow to the face would follow. Stormbreaker would follow, and Ospreay would stand tall as Dynamite went off the air. On June 25th, they meet over the IWGP United States Championship – and we might be seeing the future.
