In 2022, the finals of the Owen Hart Memorial Cup would see Britt Baker defeat Ruby Soho. Originally, we were supposed to get a rematch of this in a first round match – but Baker was out sick. Instead, Soho has a chance to tune up her skills against Alexia Nicole.

Sammy Guevara Has A Message Ahead To The Main Event

Before this match, Sammy Guevara came out with cue cards. They’d say the following.

“You may have to fight a battle more than once to win a war. Sting… Darby… Once again, we’ll do battle. But tonight … we’re winning this war.

Darby Allin, my eternal adversary. We’re destined to fight… FIGHT FOREVER. Tonight! In the main event, it’s not ‘let the fight begin’, it’s ‘let the fight continue’.

Ruby Soho Sends A Message To Britt Baker

Nicole would be calm ahead of the biggest match of her career, but was quickly taken to the mat with a back heel trip. Soho would mock Baker before driving Nicole into the corner, and hit some stomps to the midsection. A boot across the throat would follow, before Nicole was thrown to the floor.

Soho would distract the referee while Saraya & Toni Storm got some cheap shots in, showing that even against a minor threat – The Outcasts don’t change their gameplan.

Two Saito Suplexes would land, and Soho already had this match won. Instead, Soho would send a message by winning with The Lockjaw, the finisher of Baker.

Soho would insult Baker for ducking her tonight, and blamed Canada for getting her sick. When they first met in 2021, Baker claimed that Soho didn’t know who she was.

That was true at the time, but Soho knows exactly who she is now. Last year, Baker barely beat Soho on her best day – and now Soho is better than ever. Next week, Soho gets her long awaited revenge, and leaves Baker with nothing.

Sting Gets All The Time He Wants With The Painmaker Tonight

Chris Jericho wanted nothing to do with a match against Sting, but Forbidden Door would lead him into a trios match – and his fourth PPV loss in a row. Furious, he would challenge Sting & Allin to a Tornado Tag Team match tonight, and intends to bring out his Painmaker persona.

Sting & Allin are undefeated in AEW with a 16-0 record, and tonight will look to maintain that record. In the The Painmaker persona – Jericho is undefeated in AEW, with a 3-0 record. It’s Jericho in his most violent form, and a no rules match suits that perfectly.

Allin & Guevara would instantly brawl on the floor, as Sting & Jericho had a battle in the ring with their bats. Sting has much more experience with a bat than Jericho, and was able to easily win out over Jericho. Allin would help set up a Stinger Splash, before being dropped with a cutter from Guevara.

Sting would take a blindside shot, before being thrown into the barricade on the floor. Allin would take a chair to the spine from Jericho, as Guevara set up a ladder in the ring. The steel steps were prepped on the floor, and Jericho would throw Allin over the stairs and into the crowd.

Sting would recover to assist Allin in a brawl, before Guevara hit a suplex onto the floor. Jericho would shove a fans Sting sign into The Icon’s mouth, adding insult to injury.

Allin would be chopped back into the ringside area, where he quickly climbed the ropes and hit a Coffin Drop onto Guevara. Sting would hit a Stinger Splash on Jericho, crushing him into the barricade.

Chris Jericho Forced Into Submission By The Icon

Sting & Allin would take tables out from under the ring, setting up them up side by side. Allin would set the ladder up, and Sting would look for revenge as Guevara was set. Sting would dive from the ring, and crashed down through Guevara in a true highlight reel moment.

Allin would use his skateboard to dive onto Jericho, but was unable to find the pinfall. Jericho would throw the ladder onto the spine of Allin, before blocking a Coffin Splash using the skateboard. Judas Effect would land, but Allin fell out of the ring.

Sting would hit the ring and try for the Scorpion Deathlock, but Jericho would block into the Walls of Jericho. Crawling for his trusty bat in the corner, Sting was able to fight free using it. Jericho would manage to hit a Codebreaker, but this was not enough to keep Sting down.

Judas Effect was ducked and Scorpion Deathdrop landed for a two count. Scorpion Deathlock would be applied, and Jericho would tap out. The Painmaker has been defeated, and The Icon proves that he still can hang with the best.
