CM Punk isn’t mad that Ricky Starks cheated to win the Owen Hart Memorial Tournament. Starks did nothing Punk wouldn’t have done at that stage of his career, but Punk was dissapointed in Starks all the same.
However, Starks viewed this in a different light – as by the time his career is done, people will be asking how many he won, not how he won them.
A second victory over Punk followed in tag team action, when Starks teamed with Christian Cage to defeat Darby Allin & CM Punk. Tonight, we will hear from CM Punk after back to back losses, and find out what is next.
CM Punk Is The Real AEW World Champion
CM Punk would come to the ring with the red bag, which he’s alluded to be carrying his AEW World Championship that he never lost. Tony Schiavone was there to interview him, and would address the bag – asking what is in the bag – wanting Punk to explain.
Punk said there is a lot going on in AEW, but before he talks about the bag, Punk would say that despite travel issues – he ensured he was here for the fans that bought tickets.
There’s a lot of things going on with Collision, and Punk is the man ready to talk about them. Wembley Stadium is first, and he intends to be at All In with a match – which has a lot to do with what is in the bag.
Ricky Starks has a lot to do with what’s in the bag. He’s beaten him twice, and Punk can take the losses – but can Starks take the fact that he can’t beat Punk fair.
Punk would say that the bag is a responsibility that has fallen to Punk, something no one else wants to be do. The crowd would chant ‘what’s in the bag’, and Punk said that he is the REAL Worlds Champion.
He pulled out the championship he won at All Out 2022, the championship that still has his blood on it, has his name on it – and that no one has beaten him for.
Punk would put the belt on the floor, and paint his symbol on the belt – the black X. It’s the symbol that has defined him since 1997, that represents he is Straight Edge. And because he’s straight edge, he’s better than you.
Ricky Starks Steps To The Real World Champion
Ricky Starks would hit the ring, and would say that Punk is just mad that Starks cheated before Punk could. What Punk has on his shoulder right now belongs to him, because he beat him twice. Starks would demand that Punk hand over the belt, recognize him as the real AEW World Champion and the face of Collision.
Punk would ask if Starks beat him twice, or did the referees beat him twice. Starks claimed that with Stevie Wonder as a referee, he would still defeat Punk. Punk would say that it sounds like Starks wants a title shot, and would say that he wants a Special Referee for the match.
Starks would say that he knows Punk has no friends, and no matter who he calls upon – Starks will win again. Punk knew how this would play out, and already made some calls – and is ready to defend this belt next week on AEW Collision. Schiavone would announce the special guest referee is Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat, a man who has never cheated in his life.
Bullet Club Gold Claims A Big Trios Win
Juice Robinson & The Gunns have quickly meshed as members of Bullet Club Gold, and are perhaps the loudest trio in All Elite Wrestling. With Robinson being a world travelled champion, and The Gunns as former AEW World Tag Team Champions, there is also no lack of skill to be found in their ranks.
Tonight, they make their debut in the trios division as they face the high flying trio of El Hijo Del Vikingo, Action Andretti & Darius Martin.
Andretti & Martin faced Robinson & Jay White in tag team action last week in a losing effort and were beaten down after the bell – making this a personal issue for them.
Martin & Colton Gunn would start this match, with Martin hitting a crossbody. Austin third to make the save, but was stopped by Andretti.
Both Gunns were sent to the floor with dropkicks, before Vikingo would cut down Robinson in the ring with some quick kicks. Bullet Club Gold would take Vikingo to the floor, and Robinson drove him into the ring post.
Back in the ring, Robinson would be dropped with a superkick, before Vikingo fought off the Gunns to make the tag to Martin – who was yanked off the apron at the last second by Robinson.
Vikingo would hit a double stomp on Colton before jumping into a tag to Andretti – who would pick up the pace, using his speed to break down The Gunns.
All three members of BCG were sent to the floor before Andretti & Martin launched Vikingo onto the pile. Colton would rake the eyes to get out of a Torture Rack, before a jumping forearm to the neck. 310 To Yuma on Martin was next – and Bullet Club Gold gets the win.
