Chris Jericho needs to make a choice tonight, and it could shape what follows in his career. Lately, he’s felt it’s time for a change in his career after a long series of big losses in 2022 & 2023 – and Don Callis would be the man to offer him that change.
A spot in the Don Callis family alongside Callis & Konosuke Takeshita could help Jericho regain his confidence – but that would mean leaving the Jericho Appreciation Society behind.
After cheating to defeat J.A.S members Daniel Garcia & Sammy Guevara in tag team action, Matt Menard called a mandatory meeting for the faction tonight – as they figure out what Jericho is thinking.
The Jericho Appreciation Society Falls Apart Piece By Piece
The bulk of the J.A.S was in the ring as the show began, with Jericho heading down to the ring after a brief introduction from Menard. Jericho was sang to the ring by the AEW fans, and knew there was some unrest in the faction.
He came down to the ring not as the rockstar or the demogod, but as their friend. Trying to ease the mood, Jericho would be shut down by Garcia – who is frustrated, having given so much to be with Jericho – only for Jericho to not choose Garcia.
Garcia would leave the faction, having had enough of Jericho. Jake Hager was not surprised, and has been with Jericho longer than anyone – and is ready to cut ties tonight, because they have a lot of options.
Hager would say he is done, and would leave the ring next. Jericho would appeal to Anna Jay & Tay Melo, only for Melo to say she feels sick being in the ring with Jericho, a far cry from how she felt originally joining the faction.
Melo will have her baby and return to AEW to become a champion without the aid of Jericho, and is done. Jay agrees, and tonight will become the AEW Women’s World Champion – and will do it for herself.
TayJay are done, and left the ring. Angelo Parker would detail what he’s done for Jericho, including hanging upside down from a double cage – only for Jericho to not return that loyalty. He left the ring.
Chris Jericho Is Alone In AEW For The First Time Since 2019
Menard would say that Jericho was his childhood hero, and was able to get him a job with AEW when he was without a job and had a baby on the way.
These past 18 months have been a dream, but Menard noticed that other people who he’s looked up to like Eddie Kingston & Kevin Steen hate Jerichos guts. He left the ring.
All that was left was Sammy Guevara, who went from battling for the AEW World Championship to battling Sting for Jericho.
They are friends, and Guevara knows that Jericho has a lot to work out. When he’s done working those things out, Guevara might be there. He left the ring.
Jericho was left alone, the Jericho Appreciation Society is done. Don Callis has successfully driven a wedge between Jericho and men who went to war for him – and now Jericho has two choices.
Go ahead in AEW alone, or join the Don Callis family. Don Callis would meet with Jericho backstage with an apology, and will give his answer to Callis next week.
The Young Bucks Meet Old Rivals And Tag Team Legends
This past Saturday on AEW Collision, a challenge was made for All In – with FTR calling out The Young Bucks to finish their feud in Wembley Stadium. Their series is tied 1-1 – and there’s no bigger way to end that feud, especially with the AEW World Tag Team Championships in play.
However, one team who wants to be involved with that match is The Hardys – the living tag team legends of professional wrestling.
They have a history with The Young Bucks, including a PPV win over them in 2022. Tonight, they renew their rivalry – and show they shouldn’t be left out of the mix for Wembley.
Jeff Hardy would kick things off with Matt Jackson, locking up in the middle of the ring – with Matt using his speed to try to outpace Jeff.
A manhattan drop would set up a snapmare, before a running neckbreaker. Matt Hardy got the tag and hit the Spin Cycle alongside Jeff, before a double suplex for a two count.
The Hardys would look to isolate Matt Jackson in their corner after a series of turnbuckle smashes, with Matt Hardy hitting an Alley Oop bomb for a near fall.
Poetry In Motion was stopped as Nick shot Jeff out of the air with a kick, before a second kick on the floor. Matt Hardy took a facebuster before a moonsault to the floor onto Jeff.
The Bucks hit Risky Business on Matt Hardy, before Nick dived to the floor. Nick would hit a double stomp in the ring, and suddenly it was Matt Hardy who was being isolated.

Matt Hardy would use his high ring IQ to cause The Bucks to attack each other before hitting a DDT in the middle of the ring.
Jeff Hardy was yanked off the apron as Matt tried for the tag, before a Twist Of Fate was blocked in the ring. A superkick would be blocked as well, before a double lariat from the Matt’s.
Side Effect from Hardy would get him a tag to Jeff, who met Nick with a dropkick in the middle of the ring before an elbow drop for a two count.
Whisper In The Wind would get a near fall, before The Young Bucks would hit the 3D on Jeff – a move from the tag team past of The Hardys.
The Meltzer Driver was blocked before a set of Twist Of Fates landed. Jeff Hardy would hit the Swanton Bomb, but Matt Jackson was able to break the pinfall up.
BTE Trigger would land on Matt Hardy, giving The Young Bucks the victory. There was respect shown after the bell, but there was a question to answer. Nick took the microphone and called out FTR.
The AEW World Champions made their way to the ring, coming face to face with the Young Bucks. They would accept the challenge for All In – and we have two blockbuster matches now confirmed for August 27th.
