CM Punk is back up to his old antics. After the most recent episode of AEW Collision, Punk would take a shot at Hangman Page – with the promo recorded by fans.
While it was initially thought to be a way to set the groundwork for a match with The Elite, this was not the case. Instead, this is just another case of CM Punk trying to be the top act in the company. Tony Khan knows about this, and is just glad people are talking about AEW.
Tony Khan Has No Comments On The Post Show Promo
While speaking with Battle & Eli on the Battleground podcast, Tony Khan would be asked to comment on the situation between CM Punk & The Elite. Khan had the following to say.
“I thought it was a great show on Saturday night. I don’t have any further comment on that, but I’m glad people are still very interested in our wrestlers and what’s happening after the wrestling shows. We’ll try to have a couple of great shows this week, and certainly, there has been a lot of interest in what’s happening in AEW in it and out of the ring.”
Currently, the closest we are getting to a match involving CM Punk & The Elite is the upcoming match involving FTR & The Young Bucks.
There was a meeting between FTR & The Young Bucks ahead of this match, and while CM Punk wanted to be involved – this was denied. Currently, Punk is unable to speak about The Young Bucks or Kenny Omega, but this agreement did not include Hangman Page.
CM Punk Has Issues With More Than Just Hangman
In addition to his issue with Page, Punk also has one with Ryan Nemeth. Frequently seen on Being The Elite, Nemeth is close friends with The Elite – and called Punk ‘the softest man’ in a tweet. Nemeth had flew into the latest episode of Collision, but was told to go home upon arrival.
Punk has also made moves to keep Christopher Daniels & Matt Hardy away from Collision, with Hardy being friends with The Elite.
Daniels meanwhile was involved in trying to break up the All Out 2022 brawl. Khan staying quiet about this situation is a bold move, and shows that this situation might be fairly fragile backstage.
Should things end in violence again, especially during the pre-All In episode of Dynamite where Collision will be taped – Khan will have to put his foot down and create order. For now, he’s keeping The Elite away from Punk – but that won’t last forever.
