FTR are ready to face their biggest challenge to date as the AEW World Tag Team Champions, as they finally face Aussie Open once again. One year ago, they faced Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis for NJPW Royal Quest – a match many consider to be one of the best to have happened in 2022.

Fletcher & Davis have now signed with AEW- and tonight, get their first chance to claim the top tag team prize in the company.

Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler told them to bring their best – having been unimpressed with their opponents lately, because anything but their best will simply see them be crushed. One year to the day from their last meeting – it’s time to see who the best tag team in the world is.

Two Of The Best Tag Teams In The World Waited A Year For Round II

Harwood & Fletcher would begin this match – with Fletcher driving Harwood into the corner, but allowing a clean break.

A headlock was applied, but Fletcher was sent off the ropes – and came right back into a shoulder tackle. Harwood would not be daunted or tempted by a tag yet – getting into some chain wrestling before hitting a big shoulder tackle.

Wheeler got the blind tag, and Fletcher would back down in the face of a potential double team. Fletcher would stand and fight with Wheeler, before being launched with a big body drop.

Harwood would get the tag and traded chops as Davis became legal. A front slam would drop Harwood, before the XL Senton from Davis.

Fletcher would take some chops and a snap suplex from Harwood, before a leg drop across the nose. FTR would corner Aussie Open for some downward punches, only driven into each other with spinebusters.

Aussie Open would pull FTR to the floor, and ran the partners into each other with spinebusters again, weakening the backs.

Wheeler would be isolated back in the ring, but was able to slingshot Fletcher over the top rope for a chance at the tag.

Davis would ensure this was not possible, and tossed him into the air for Fletcher to catch Wheeler in a powerbomb. Wheeler would continue fighting – and managed an Avalanche Backdrop after catching Fletcher on the top rope.

Davis yanked Harwood off the apron as Wheeler was close to a tag – before tagging in and keeping the pressure on Wheeler with some stiff strikes.

Harwood would finally get the tag, and proved why he’s known as “Dax The Axe” as he chopped Fletcher down with a huge lariat.

FTR Pulls Out Their Best Tricks To Drop Aussie Open

Davis would refuse to go . Aussie Open would catch Harwood with the Dental Plan Kick before the Aussie Arrow launching DDT – but this combo was not enough for the victory. FTR attempted the PowerPlex, but Aussie Open would prevent this.

Wheeler would be lifted onto the shoulders of Fletcher, and Davis came off the top rope with a crescent kick. Somehow, Wheeler was able to kick out – and FTR nailed Davis with the PowerPlex – only for Fletcher to dive off the top rope for the crossbody, breaking the pinfall up. Aussie Open would look to sandwich Wheeler with lariats, but Coriolis was blocked.

Harwood was taken out, before Aussie Open hit the Shatter Machine, and Coriolis shortly after. It was another save by Harwood that saved the match, but Aussie Open remained in control.

A spike piledriver on the apron was planned, but Fletcher was shoved off the top rope. Davis took an FTR Spike Piledriver on the apron, and Fletcher was dropped with a Super Shatter Machine in the ring – keeping the AEW World Tag Team Championships around the waists of FTR.

Will The Young Bucks be the team to end the reign of FTR after their victory earlier today? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
