There are some men who have had an everlasting impact on professional wrestling, with one of them being Ric Flair. The sixteen time world champion is the definition of the word legendary, but has been retired since 2011. His final match in WWE came at Wrestlemania 24 when he would lose to Shawn Michaels in a career threatening match, but would go on to wrestle on tours with Hulk Hogan and for Impact Wrestling. A match with longtime rival Sting in Impact Wrestling would end his career on September 12th, 2011. Since then, he has focused on being the manager of his daughter Charlotte Flair, who is becoming one of the Best In The World. Now a 71 year old man, he still has one match that he would lace up his boots for.
Ric Flair Would Wrestle Roman Reigns If He Could
While speaking on Instagram Live alongside Snoop Dogg, Flair would take questions from fans. One such question was who would he wrestle if he had one final match. His answer was one of the top stars in WWE today, Roman Reigns. This is a match that Flair feels would bring the most money with his involvement, making it worth the risk. It would be a massive match if built and promoted correctly, one that would truly capture the imagination of fans both old and new. Cast Flair as a wily veteran and protect him, and it would be a memorable match if nothing else. This is incredibly unlikely to actually happen, as unlike Jerry Lawler who has called out people like The Fiend, Flair is retired.
The Only Place This Match Would Happen Is Saudi Arabia
During this same Instagram Live session, Flair mentioned that he trained hard to try and get a spot at WWE Crown Jewel in the past, but WWE put a stop to those plans. Flair is determined to have a match in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia, and a match with Roman Reigns would fit the usual vibe of these supershows. They often prey on nostalgia with previous main events like Undertaker vs. Goldberg & DX vs. Brothers Of Destructions as notable examples. It was at the last Super Showdown event in Saudi Arabia where Goldberg became WWE Universal Champion. If there is any place we will see Roman Reigns face Ric Flair, it will be here.
