AEW Dark continues and once again, we see Lee Johnson and Musa pairing up. But once more they’re not coming out together, which makes it sorta hard to see them as a regular tandem. Maybe that’s just me being weird though. Don’t really try to match in gear either. Anyway they’re getting a shot at playing the babyfaces this time around as they go up against Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc. Just from looking at them and Penelope as well, it seems like the three of them are largely bonding over a mutual love of leather.
Jimmy Havoc & Kip Sabian vs. Lee Johnson & Musa
Sabian and Johnson start us off. Lock-up. Kip with an arm wringer. Lee rolls through, reverses into a hammerlock. Kip trying to step on through, rolls out of it and cinches in a wristlock. Lee reverses, Kip with more rolls, fights to get the arm wringer, snapmare, hooks both arms for a surprise cradle for 2. Headlock takeover but Lee with the headscissors. Kip handstands his way out of the whole, then dives into a side headlock! Johnson fights his way up, Kip singles out the wrist and tags in Jimmy Havoc who comes in with a big plethora of body shots. Pounding him into the corner now! Forearm after forearm, after a particularly nasty one he tosses him with an Exploder and Musa tags himself in!
Jimmy offers Musa a handshake, stopping him in his tracks. Amazingly Musa takes him up on it, and Jimym doesn’t sneak attack him. But he lures him into a lock-up attempt and then just up and nails him in the face with a punch! Stomps him into the corner, Sabian tags in and pulls Musa up with a side headlock. Musa shoves him off, Kip ducks a few shots, leap frog into a dropkick and a pose. Yannow in his mannerisms Kip reminds me a lot of Noam Dar. Sorta looks like him too. Back drops Musa to the apron but he fights back, rolls off his back, gets a step-up headscissors, into a dropkick! Tag to Lee. Musa with a charging uppercut, Lee follows up with one of his own, snapmare, huge standing dropkick just to one-up his partner! Cover for a 1 count.
Good cohesion now with Lee and Musa cutting off the ring, tag to Musa. Jimmy Havoc distracts the ref though, allowing Kip to gouge his eyes. Tag to Jimmy, body shot. Cravate into a snapmare, neck crank. Fishhooking the mouth as well, elbow to the side of the face, point of the elbow to the top of the head. Kip tags himself in, double whip, Inverted Atomic Drop from Kip, running single leg dropkick from Havoc! And then Sabian just puts a boot to Musa’s chest for a mocking cover, doesn’t work of course. Havoc tags in, works Musa over in the corner, teases a big chop but Kip tags himself in. As Musa looks up, Jimmy extends two fingers – Kip kicks Musa in the back of the head and sends him forward, a loophole exploiting eye poke!
Musa tries to fight back but eats a big knee lift from Kip! Havoc tags in, snapmare, keeps his head in place as Sabian punts him right in the chest! Kip gazes into the air like he just kicked a field goal, Rick Knox signals that it’s wide left and Kip is upset! Havoc biting the ear of Musa. Musa fights out of the corner, back elbow to Havoc, ducks a clothesline, Havoc grabs the ankle but Musa flips Havoc into the middle turnbuckle and then he dives for the tag to Lee Johnson! Johnson leaps in, baseball slide to Sabian, uppercut to Havoc, whip to the opposite corner for a charging clothesline, vertical suplex and a kip up! Johnson with a leaping heel kick for a nearfall! Lee’s a very impressive athlete. Pulls him up but Havoc surprises him with the Acid Rainmaker out of nowhere! Elevated DDT for good measure gets the victory!
Winner: Jimmy Havoc & Kip Sabian
Havoc and Sabian seemed to be having some fun in there, definitely got potential as a unit if they want to go full-gore with it.
