AEW Dark keeps on rolling and we’ve got tag team action up now, as Private Party look to continue their winning streak ahead of their big bout with the Best Friends on the upcoming Double Or Nothing Buy-In. Tonight they take on Ryan Rembrandt and Mike Reed. Once again Private Party pantomime their usual entrance since Atlas Security still isn’t in the building.
Private Party vs. Ryan Rembrandt & Mike Reed
Rembrandt and Quen start out, Quen with a waistlock takedown and Rembrandt is not happy about it. Reverse Chinlock from Quen, Rembrant escapes into a wristlock, Quen surprises him with a handstand headscissor into a standing dropkick! Lot of zip on that one. Tag to Kassidy, double whip, Rembrandt blocks it but a little double teaming, assisted headscissors from Kassidy takes Rembrandt into the ropes! He was probably supposed to go to the floor there. Mike Reed rushes in, they both duck him, leapfrog from Quen, Kassidy with a single leg lariat! Kassidy with a knife edge chop to Rembrandt! Whip reversed, Reed with a leg trip, Kassidy escapes though, punch to Rembrandt, goes over to the apron and kicks Reed in the face but Rembrandt with a Hot Shot!
Marq Quen rushes in to take the fight to him though. Ref forces Kassidy back to the apron though, Rembrandt wants to suplex Kassidy into the ring but he blocks it, however Rembrandt nails the Northern Lights Suplex for a 2 count! Tag to Mike Reed, who comes in with a fancy Russian Legsweep/Clothesline combo for a nearfall! Pulls him up just to drop him with a big right hand. Reed gets him up again, tag to Rembrandt, Reed whips him, Manhattan Drop holds him in place for the flying knee from Rembrandt, 2 count! Kassidy fights back from the double teaming, leap frog into a diving tag, Quen rolls Rembrandt into place and steps off of him into a flying enziguri to Reed, then to Rembrandt, taking both to the outside for a pescado!
This one will take some explaining, I’m glad this is on YouTube where I can just pause it when I need to. Kassidy tags in Quen, hooks an arm, cinches it between Rembrandt’s legs so he’s doubled over, Quen pops off Kassidy’s back with a Front Flip Stunner, holding him in place for a boot to the face from Quen, and this leads directly into the Assisted Sliced Bread! Mike Reed breaks up the pin, Quen with a flying karate kick. Gets sent to the apron, Reed tries to throw Kassidy as well but there’s the Silly String! Pin but the ref realizes Reed is not the legal man. Sidesteps Rembrandt, springboard into an X-Factor! Kassidy up top, big Senton Bomb and that’s that!
Winner: Private Party
A little messy… maybe more than a little. The usual story with Private Party is that they’re very flashy and fun to watch when they get rolling but still need work as it pertains to the flow of a match, and that still holds true. They kinda need to be in there with a more experienced team to truly shine. I still love ’em though.
