AEW Dynamite continues. We now have the first-ever face-off between Arn Anderson and Jake Roberts. Arn is the last one left to mess with for Jake the Snake and Lance Archer, they’ve already made their mark on the rest of Cody’s closest allies. Tony Schiavone is here to moderate them and makes the introductions. They’re at a table, the covering blowing in the wind here at the open-air Daily’s Place.
Jake says it’s almost surreal to sit across the table with him. All these years they’ve crossed paths but never in the ring with each other. He’s so happy he didn’t bring the rest of his dog and pony show, he’s not used to showing up alone… but get used to it. Jake says we all have dreams and nightmares, we all know those aren’t real. But Lance Archer is. He has destroyed everything that’s been put in front of him. Cody’s wormed his way around, even sacrificed his own brother just so he wouldn’t have to face him. But now, no more excuses or riddles to figure out. He’s gonna have to come face to face with the truth and the truth is that Lance Archer is a mean son of a bitch who’s gonna rip his damn heart out. Boos from the crowd. Jake asks if this is Arn’s weekend pass from the home, we haven’t seen him in a couple of months. Says he’s looking thick.
Arn says Jake almost made him believe him. Says for him too this is surreal, on everybody’s wish list over the years. A dream match, what if Jake and Arn battled it out? He’s gotta have some serious goosebumps now. We’re two guys if we told you a pissant could pull a freight train, you’d hook it up. ‘Cause that’s what they are, they’re credible. Even across the ring he can feel how evil Jake is. He saw in the locker room people seeing in the snake in the bag and their eyes were shot. Arn knows that’s a distraction. The truth is what’s in his eyes, the evil. Jake cuts him off to say he’s been to hell and back, so one more trip with him isn’t bad. Arn demands he say that again. Jake is calling him out for a fight but Arn asks for decorum. Says that Iron Mike Tyson is coming out of retirement and will present the TNT Championship to the winner no matter who he is.
But word is that he’s also gonna get free reign, he can wander all over the floor and do whatever he wants and he’s honored to share the floor with Mike Tyson. But is he gonna throw that stupid snake on him? How’s that gonna turn out for him? Jake says whatever he throws at Tyson, he promised Lance Archer he’ll get the first shot at him. Archer knows he can knock him out. Jake says he hoped that bimbo Brandi would present the title. Arn says Cody told him he wants to win the TNT Championship not because of the pay raise, he has to do it, because he’s not just Dusty Rhodes’ son or Dustin’s brother, he’s one of the leaders of this company to have spearheaded this company in a year’s time and made it the product that it is. His leadership is being recognized because he earned it.
Arn says he knows Jake is nervous because he’s a vicious prick but the only reason he doesn’t come around the table is he has one more bit of good news. Everybody know Jake is doing DDP Yoga? Says that’s good because he wants him to be real limber when he spinebusters his ass and shoves his head where the sun doesn’t shine! Jake hops up and throws the table away, smacking Tony Schiavone as he squares up with Arn! Officials have to separate them.
