Tonight, all eyes will be on Sasha Banks & Bayley when they look to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. They have to defeat the former champions of Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross, as well as the team who ended their first reign as champions; The Iconics. Whoever wins this match will have just a few days to get ready for their next defense, when the winners will face Tegan Nox & Shotzi Blackheart with the titles on the line this coming Wednesday on NXT.
Always a confident one, Sasha Banks would appear on The Bump to hype up both these title matches, as she knows she’ll be winning both of them. Banks is just that good, ignoring the fact that she has barely been able to defend a title since leaving NXT. However, confidence is important, and we could see this come to play.
Sasha Banks Is Going To Make Them Into Stars
When asked about how she would feel about returning to NXT for this match, she had the following to say. “I made NXT, NXT wouldn’t be here without Sasha Banks and Bayley. So I am super excited to come back this Wednesday night. I’m just gonna show all the women exactly what it’s like to be the legit boss. I mean, Charlotte tried, but I’m going to make them the stars they they want to be.”
Ignoring that many will argue Charlotte didn’t try to help NXT, rather hindering it, Sasha Banks could be a better choice to boost the brand. Banks is someone who is constantly going out and having the best match of the night with anyone she steps in the ring with, and genuinely makes them look like a star every time, win or lose. Add in that Bayley will be coming along, who has been doing the same thing, giving people like Tamina and Lacey Evans the best matches of their careers, and we could see Shotzi & Tegan come out of this potential match looking better than ever before.
Could Banks End Up Back In NXT Full Time?
While we still need to see her & Bayley have their long teased clash, Banks is someone who could benefit from returning to NXT like Finn Balor has. Banks hasn’t quite looked as much like a star on RAW or Smackdown then she did during her tenure with NXT, where she was praised as one of the best in the world. Matches with names like Rhea Ripley, Io Shirai, Dakota Kai and more would be excellent for her. It’s a move we could very well see in a future Superstar Shakeup.
