The final portion of the Erick Stevens Presents Professional Wrestling promoted by Black Label Pro (BLP) featured a rookie make an impressive show for himself and a marquee match that was worthy of the position.

In the headline match rookie, BSTRD Cassidy took on former Mixed Martial Arts fighter Tom Lawlor.

BSTRD Cassidy is a refreshing young wrestler on the United States independent scene. He wrestles in a throwback 1980s brawling style, that is miles different from those working in a more acrobatic high spot style.

While it was clear that he needs further experience, he has the potential to carve a name for himself within the industry. As earlier in the event for Blake Christian and Alex Zayne, commentary omitted that Tom Lawlor had recently appeared on New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) programming in recent weeks.

Lawlor stuck to his style and was able to outlast the rookie and submit him at the 8 minute and 33-second mark.

The marquee match of the event saw Calvin Tankman who was making his BLP debut challenge Erick Stevens for the BLP Championship.

Tankman, who was recently signed by Major League Wrestling (MLW) hadn’t had the best singles record during 2020 but did have a victory over Effy on July 11th and veteran Homicide on August 16th.

Erick Stevens who had a measure of momentum coming into the match with wins over Josh Alexander, Mance Warner, and Big Perc in 2020. However, Stevens was unable to complete cope with the weight disadvantage against Tankman.

While caught by Stevens in several submission attempts, Tankman was able to use his power and athleticism to keep the BLP Champion from putting him away.

At the 18 minute and 17-second mark, Tankman was able to gain the fall over Stevens and win the BLP Championship. It was the best match of the night, yet it was thrown off a bit by a wrestler seen throughout the match on the hard camera looking at his phone while in the gymnasium rather than the match itself.

However, Jake Something who won The Greatest BLP Rumble on January 18, 2020, for a BLP Championship match whenever he wanted it decided to cash in on the tired Tankman. Despite his best efforts, Something was quickly able to gain the fall on Tankman and leave with the title.

Hopefully, there is an upcoming match between Calvin Tankman and Jake Something for the championship.
