Moments After The Opening Of The Headline Match Of The September 11, 2020 Fighting Spirit Unleashed 2020 Marquee Match via New Japan World

The headline match of the sixth New Japan Strong episode, a part of the Fighting Spirit Unleashed 2020 tour saw former six-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Guerillas of Destiny (GOD) [Tama Tonga/Tonga Loa] team together for the first time since New Japan Pro Wrestling returned from the COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) delay.

They faced the team of former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion David Finlay and Ring of Honor (ROH) roster member, PJ Black. In what was mostly a tag match in the traditional style, Black/Finlay were able to grab the advantage early, catching GOD off guard.

However, the prolific Bullet Club team was able to gain an advantage over the inexperienced team. Tonga Loa gained the fall over Black with his Apes**t technique at the 9 minute and 24-second mark.

The second match of the event saw former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion (as Black Tiger) Rocky Romero face Danny Limelight. Over the past several weeks, the two have traded respectful comments regarding one another. Romero is interested in taking Limelight under his wing, and Limelight admits to a long admiration of Romero.

The competitive match saw Romero use a combination of wits and swagger to take the advantage of the highly athletic yet inexperienced Danny Limelight.

Rocky would gain the submission fall at the 8 minute and 12-second mark with the Diablo Armbar technique.

The opening match saw NJPW Los Angeles (LA) Dojo graduate TJP and ACH face Adrian Quest and Logan Riegel. While Quest and Riegel were at an extreme experience disadvantage, the two were competitive against the match favorites.

The conspiracy theorist TJP and ACH looked sharp as a tag team, with ACH having a noticeable intense edge to him. After a barrage of offense, ACH would gain the fall over Quest with a Frog Splash at the 9 minute and 23-second mark.

During the event, NJPW teased that starting next week on New Japan Strong, Lion’s Break Crown tour would begin. The tour sounds familiar to the Young Lion’s Cup that is held within Japan, but it has yet to be announced if it will involve a tournament.

The tour will showcase young talent from around the United States as a number of the New Japan of America (NJoA) roster members will be in Japan for G1 Climax 30.
