Backstage, Jey Uso was pumped up as he headed to Roman Reigns’ dressing room, playfully demanding to be allowed in as we headed to commercial.
WWE Smackdown Results came back from commercial to a tribute to Road Warrior Animal who passed a couple of days ago. It featured images of him with other superstars and various social media posts from WWE personnel.
This and a brief image at the opening is the best they could do for one of the greatest? Seriously? Big time fail by the WWE. Big time.
The show then switched gears with a recorded segment featuring Rikishi and other family members talking about how they could always tell Reigns was destined for greatness.
They then turned their focus to Jey, and how he was always there trying to work his way through it.
This was a really good piece the WWE produced. They’re second to none when it comes to presentation.
When it ended, Jey Uso came out to the ring.
Deserving an answer
Jey started out saying it’s his family as at Clash of Champions it’s cousin vs cousin, blood vs blood for the Universal Championship.
Jey then sent it to a recap of his and Reigns’ match last week, ending with him messing with Reigns and Reigns’ stone hard look afterwards.
Jey said all week he was asked about the look. He couldn’t tell because he didn’t see it, he had his back turned. So he asked Reigns, who it was shown he was watching backstage with Paul Heyman.
Jey continued asking while pacing in the ring, but no answer came. He said he thought he was better than to smile to his face and frown to his back, which is it.
Heyman came out of the dressing room and addressed it.
He said Reigns will say what was behind that, but not when Jey Uso wants it to happen. It’ll happen when Roman Reigns’ schedule permits, since he is the tribal chief and is busy.
Heyman guaranteed the face to face discussion will happen in the ring tonight.
Jey said he knew something was up since Reigns changed his phone number and has Heyman checking his email.
He then welcomed Reigns to the Uso Penitentiary and left the ring. This was a pretty intense promo, and shows Jey has really grown over the last couple of weeks.
WWE Smackdown Results are curious how far Jey will be allowed to go if given the chance.
