The final day of G1 Climax 30 A Block action showcases a dramatic finish to the block. Former IWGP Heavyweight, IWGP Intercontinental, IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion, and Bullet Club member “Switchblade” Jay White, former IWGP Intercontinental Champion and G1 Climax 29 winner “Golden Star” Kota Ibushi, former five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion, G1 Climax 22 winner, G1 Climax 24 winner, and CHAOS member “Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada, and current Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion and CHAOS member Will Ospreay remain alive as potential block winners.
Switchblade (Bullet Club) v Ishii (CHAOS)
The former five-time NEVER Openweight Champion, two-time RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion, and CHAOS member “Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii can play the role of spoiler against Jay White with a victory.
Ishii is coming off a tough loss to fellow CHAOS member Kazuchika Okada during G1 Climax Night 15. However, a win against Switchblade will turn around his tough string of results.
However, if White can win, he advances to his second straight G1 Climax Finals. His fate is in his hands, will he be able to rise to the occasion?
Ibushi (Hontai) v Taichi (Suzuki-Gun)
Kota Ibushi needs to win and for Ishii to defeat Jay White in the marquee for him to advance to his third straight G1 Climax Finals.
However, his opponent, former two-time NEVER Openweight Champion and Suzuki-Gun member Taichi is capable of spoiling the tournament for the on-form Ibushi. He is coming off a victory against former NEVER Openweight Champion and Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) member Shingo Takagi during G1 Climax 30 Night 15.
Okada (CHAOS) v Ospreay (CHAOS)
Kazuchika Okada needs to defeat his unit mate Will Ospreay in the first headline of the night, Ibushi needs to lose in the second headline match, and Jay White needs to lose in the marquee.
The equation for Ospreay is far more complicated. He needs to defeat Okada, Ibushi needs to lose, Jay White needs to lose, and former NEVER Openweight Champion and Bullet Club member Yujiro must defeat former NEVER Openweight Champion Jeff Cobb in order to advance to the G1 Climax 30 Finals.
Ospreay lost to Cobb during G1 Climax 30 Night 15 to put him in the dire situation he’s in.
Suzuki (Suzuki-Gun) v Shingo (LIJ)
Current NEVER Openweight Champion Minoru Suzuki faces the man he defeated for the title, LIJ member Shingo Takagi. While the tournament hasn’t gone the way either wanted, Shingo can make a claim for the NEVER Openweight Championship with a victory over Suzuki.
However, a loss to Taichi during his last outing may convolute the situation if he can gain the victory. Suzuki is going to welcome Shingo’s spirit, as he always does when a fight approaches him.
Cobb (Hontai) v Yujiro (Bullet Club)
Bullet Club member Yujiro has the opportunity to gain his first win of G1 Climax 30 after coming close numerous times. If he can defeat Jeff Cobb he keeps RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay’s G1 Climax 30 Finals hopes alive.
A victory for Cobb likely solidifies him for a future title match against Ospreay, who would likely be eager to face the man who cost an opportunity to wrestle in a G1 Climax Finals.
