Moments After The Third Match From Power Struggle On November 7, 2020 Began via New Japan World

The undercard of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW) Power Struggle feature event saw a trio of competitive singles matches. The Edion Arena Osaka #1 crowd was effectively built up to the two headline matches and marquee main event.

The last of those matches saw CHAOS member and former five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion “Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada take on Empire member Great-O-Khan. O-Khan cost Okada his final day G1 Climax 30 match against Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay.

O-Khan showed a unique array of strikes as he kept Okada off balance, yet the most prolific IWGP Heavyweight Champion in regards to title defense used his tag team experience on the Road to Power Struggle to adjust to his opponent.

Okada would gain the fall by referee stoppage with his Money Clip submission at the 12 minutes and 58 seconds mark. After the match, Ospreay, the leader of the Empire challenged Okada to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 15, which was accepted by his former close friend.

The second match saw Suzuki-Gun leader, and NEVER Openweight Champion Minoru Suzuki make the V1 defense of his second reign against Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) leader Shingo Takagi.

In what was the typical Strong Style brawling format associated with the NEVER Openweight Championship, Suzuki and Shingo battered one another. The physical nature of the match took a toll on both competitors, but it was Shingo who would prevail and begin his second reign with the title.

He would gain the fall at the 18 minutes and 56 seconds mark with the Last of the Dragon technique.

The opening match of the event saw CHAOS member and KOPW (presumably King of Pro Wrestling) titleholder Toru Yano defend the title against Suzuki-Gun member Zack Sabre Jr.

The stipulation for the match was for all corner pads to be removed before the start of the contest. Zack Sabre Jr who control Yano for the majority of the match, but Yano used another trick to steal victory from the “Submission Master.”

Yano would be by count-out at the 12 minutes and 11 seconds mark after tying Zack Sabre Jr’s laces around the barricade, preventing him from getting back into the ring.
