Bayley revealed on social media this week that she was ‘done’ with Sasha Banks for now, but she stopped short on closing their programme for good. It’s heavily believed that Bayley will return to Sasha Banks further down the line, with the two former friends likely to go to war once more on the grandest stage in April.
But, with Bayley revealing that her programme with Banks is over for the foreseeable, that does beg the question what could be next for the former SmackDown women’s champion.
WWE News: Bayley To Join Team SmackDown?
The most probable plan will see Bayley join the SmackDown team for Survivor Series, as there are still two spots remaining open in the team. At present, only Bianca Belair and Ruby Riott are in the team, which means that there are still three more spots left to fill. It looks unlikely that Carmella will be one of the stars that will be taking one of the spots, as her attack on Banks last week seems to indicate that she is targeting a title opportunity.
There is certainly history in the traditional match at Survivor Series if Bayley is to be involved, as she will once again come up against Shayna Baszler, who pinned Bayley at this event 12 months ago. Bayley being included will also add a much needed star to the blue brand’s team, and the decision will likely be applauded by Belair, who recently claimed that she would like to see Bayley named in the team.
WWE News: Qualifying Match Could Happen On Friday
Survivor Series is getting closer, which means that there will be a race against time to fill the final couple of spots left remaining on the SmackDown team. That could lead to a couple of qualifying matches this Friday night. As well as Bayley, Belair also admitted that she would like Liv Morgan to join the SmackDown team. Morgan’s tag partner is already part of the team, which would make Morgan a favourite to join her.
Bayley could play up the fact that she was the longest-reigning SmackDown women’s champion on the show this week to avoid being in a qualifying match, which could mean that she could be inserted immediately. Not only that, Bayley could unsettle the team further by claiming that she will only join the team if she is made captain for the blue brand. We will likely get some answers on SmackDown tomorrow night.
