NXT Takeover: War Games is fast approaching, with tonight being WWE’s Black & Gold brands last stop ahead of the event. We have another War Games advantage ladder match with Shotzi Blackheart taking on Raquel Gonzalez, and there’s an open slot on Takeover begging for someone to challenge Finn Balor. Let’s break down what we can expect from tonight’s episode of WWE NXT.

Shotzi Blackheart Looks To Give Her Team The Edge

Last week, we saw an absolutely insane ladder match between Pete Dunne & Kyle O’Reilly, and we have another to come. Shotzi Blackheart is leading her troops into battle on Sunday, with Rhea Ripley & Ember Moon already joining up. She needs one more member to face off with Team LeRae, and while everyone knows it’ll be NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai, nothing has been made official yet.

One thing that will be official before the night is through is which team gets the edge. Blackheart gets a chance to play daredevil as she looks to take down the physically imposing target of Raquel Gonzalez, the powerhouse of Team LeRae. This one should be chaotic and cathartic as hell, and definitely one to look forward too.

Who Will Challenge Finn Balor?

It’s been a while since Finn Balor stepped into the ring, his match with Kyle O’Reilly having broken his jaw. The Prince is back however, and is itching for another big match. Last week, he laid down what was practically an open challenge for someone to grow a pair and step up to face him.

Getting to face Finn Balor on a major stage is a boost to anyone’s career, and there’s one man who has been ready for his shot for a while now. KUSHIDA has been on a major hot streak as of late, defeating everyone from Velveteen Dream to Tomasso Ciampa, but doesn’t have a match set for Takeover.

This is a potential match that doesn’t need a major build, and could just boil down to a challenge followed by an incredible match. We could see Takeover go without a defense of the NXT Championship, as War Games is the big draw, but with Balor wanting a fight? It’s unlikely.
