It’s that magical time of year once again, when The Undisputed Era gets together and spends some quality time with four other men. War Games is here again, and that means a ladder match to choose who gets the advantage in the match. Pete Dunne has eagerly stepped up for The Kings of NXT, but Undisputed Era waited a bit longer to plan out this match.
Kyle O’Reilly stepped up, and while he put Finn Balor out for two months? Dunne isn’t that impressed. He could have put Balor out for good if that was him.
A Chaotic Start
Before the bell could even ring, O’Reilly was throwing blows. Dunne didn’t even get his coat off, but was sent to the outside and dropped with a sweep kick. We’d get a commercial break right out of the gate, and the match would start properly when we got back.
There was already a ladder propped up in the ring, but they just wanted to throw strikes. The fight spilled to the outside, and O’Reilly grabbed another ladder and had his hands stomped into it. Dunne took control and set the ladder up across the ring and barricade. O’Reilly avoided being suplexed through it and was able to slingshot Dunne into the barricade. He’d grab a ladder and try for the win, but Dunne stopped him.
Dunne would get O’Reilly in the ladder, and apply a submission using it, before trapping his left hand under the ladder as he climbed. O’Reilly freed himself and hit a Dragon Screw in the ladder, then applied a kneebar. The damage was done to both men, but Dunne was still able to hit an enziguri and hit a powerbomb into the ladder.
O’Reilly slipped to the outside, right near the ladder set up outside and had his head stomped into it. Despite this, he’d be able to rally back and get another Dragon Screw in the ropes, again assaulting the left knee of Dunne. Some quick strikes would stun Dunne, but he’d be able to suplex O’Reilly through the ladder all the same.
Kyle O’Reilly Will Destroy The Leg Of Dunne
We’d get picture in picture for the commercial break, but both men had to recover from that massive suplex. Dunne was first to get back in the ring, and would set up a ladder to go for the win. But the damage to his leg had slowed him, so O’Reilly had an extra few seconds to make the save.
Dunne would fling him to the mat, and set the ladder on the mat. O’Reilly would have his arm trapped in the ladder, and Dunne stomped right onto his elbow. The punishment wasn’t over, as he’d then have the ladder just sent down to his arm.
Dunne grabbed a steel chair, and O’Reilly got a kick before punching the steel chair. This stunned him, and Dunne tried for Bitter End, but O’Reilly countered into a choke. A brainbuster onto the ladder followed, but when O’Reilly went for the killshot with his diving knee strike? He’d miss and smash the knee off the ladder.
Dunne was now alone in the ring with a ladder, but O’Reilly somehow got back to his feet and grabbed an ankle lock on Dunne. Dunne broke free, then missed an enziguri and got the ladder instead.
Pete Dunne Has Some Help
These two were truly tearing each other apart in this one, just taking shots at each other from their knees. O’Reilly kicked Dunne in the ribs, before yanking him right into the ladder. It was a tug-of-war with a ladder in the middle, but O’Reilly won and shoved the ladder right onto Dunne.
Both men would manage to make it to the top of the ladder, but Dunne would start to kick down at O’Reilly. He’d get his hands on the briefcase, but O’Reilly stopped him. Dunne came back and snapped the fingers of O’Reilly. He’d go to his feet and shove the ladder down, before hitting a big lariat to a fallen Dunne.
O’Reilly would start the climb, before being whacked twice with a steel chair. A Bitter End on the barricade, and O’Reilly isn’t human, because he was back. He’d tip Dunne off the ladder into another ladder, but a mystery man would run in and send O’Reilly to the floor. This means The Kings Of NXT have the edge at War Games.
