Moments After The Beginning Of The December 12, 2020 Super J Cup 2020 Match Between Kenta/Hikuleo Against Ren Narita/Kevin Knight via New Japan Pro Wrestling

On December 12th, New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) presented the Super J Cup 2020 tournament. The one-night campaign would crown a new trophy winner the day after former three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Best of the Super Juniors 25 (BOSJ 25), and Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) member “Time Bomb” Hiromu Takahashi won the BOSJ 27 trophy.

The second of the non-tournament tag team matches saw Bullet Club members former NEVER Openweight Champion and New Japan Cup USA 2020 winner Kenta and “Young Gun” Hikuleo take on NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Ren Narita and NJPW Los Angeles (LA) Dojo Young Lion Kevin Knight.

Narita is at the LA Dojo for an excursion, while Kevin Knight made his NJPW debut within the match. Despite the aggressiveness shown by the two Young Lion’s, they weren’t able to bring forth enough to really challenge their opposition.

Kenta gained the submission fall over Knight at the 10 minutes and 2 seconds mark with a Full Crab. Even with the loss, Knight showed an impressive physicality that could see him develop into an explosive Heavyweight competitor after he graduates from the NJPW Dojo System.

Moments After The Beginning Of The December 12, 2020 Super J Cup 2020 Match Between Fred Rosser And Rocky Romero Against JR Kratos And Danny Limelight via New Japan Pro Wrestling

The first of the non-tournament tag team matches saw Bullet Club members former NEVER Openweight Champion and New Japan Cup USA 2020 winner Kenta and “Young Gun” Hikuleo take on NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Ren Narita and NJPW Los Angeles (LA) Dojo Young Lion Kevin Knight.

The first non-tournament match of the night saw former eight-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion and CHAOS member Rocky Romero and “Mr. No Days Off” Fred Rosser take on Team Filthy members JR Kratos and Danny Limelight.

Rosser, who has become a regular on New Japan Strong and for New Japan of America (NJoA) continued to impress as he showed strength and quickness against Kratos and Limelight. While Romero was looking for revenge against Limelight, he came to realize that the Team Filthy influences are going to make it difficult for him to ever receive a one on one opportunity against the young Junior Heavyweight.

Limelight would get the fall on Romero at the 12 minutes and 49 seconds mark after Kratos used the Game Changer on Romero.
