2020 has come and gone, and was a huge year for All Elite Wrestling. In their first full year of running weekly episodes of AEW Dynamite, they faced a pandemic head on and gave fans something to look forward to each and every week. Now that 2021 is upon us, let’s make some predictions of what will happen over the next 365 days of AEW.

…And New AEW World Champion, Hangman Page!

Starting off with a big one, but also one that is fairly clear to see, I see our fourth ever AEW World Champion being crowned this year. Right now, Kenny Omega is the reigning champion, after beating Hangman Page to get the shot, and being able to overcome Jon Moxley. The history between Page & Omega is already abundant in AEW, and the story of Hangman Page is one of the best AEW has done thus far.

Right now, it seems like Page is finally taking the plunge into joining Dark Order. That will help him get his confidence back up, and let him eventually face off with his former tag team partner, and come out on top. It’s the big rematch to look out for in 2021, and could be one of their best matches of the year. Bonus points if it happens in-front of a major crowd, as it would take the roof off any venue in America.

Wardlow Finally Throws MJF Into The Stratosphere

Ever since Wardlow made his debut in early 2020 as MJF’s muscle, people knew there was more to this situation. This giant of a man who has been well proven in the ring during his time in AEW has been taking a lot of abuse from MJF, who currently pays his wages. However, they’ve teased many times that Wardlow will turn on MJF.

While currently Wardlow is more focused on Jake Hager of Inner Circle, it’s only a matter of time before Wardlow’s attention is back on MJF. As he gets better and finds more confidence, the F-10 to MJF becomes closer and closer. What a beautiful moment it will be, with this having the potential to be one of the biggest babyface turns in 2021.

    TNT Champion Jungle Boy

The TNT Championship reached new meaning during the recent tribute show to Mr. Brodie Lee. It’s already an important belt after great reigns by Cody Rhodes & Brodie Lee, but in 2021, it might become even bigger. With a new design on the way and the daredevil Darby Allin as champion, we will be in for some crazy matches. However, AEW could use this title to help elevate some of their younger talent.

One wrestler who would really benefit from winning this championship in 2021 is the insanely talented Jungle Boy. While Tag Team gold with Luchasaurus seems more likely, big singles matches with Chris Jericho & MJF showed just how good Jungle Boy is in singles. He’s one of the top prospects the company has right now, and winning his first singles gold in 2021 will set him up very nicely going forward.

Christopher Daniels Retires From In-Ring Action

When AEW started, one of the first people announced to be in the company were the three members of S.C.U. Frankie Kazarian, Scorpio Sky, and Christopher Daniels all brought a lot to the roster, and Kaz & Sky will likely be sticking around for years to come. However, Daniels isn’t the great wrestler he was even five years ago. Age has caught up with The Fallen Angel.

With SCU on rocky legs after Daniels took every pinfall in a loss for the duo of him and Kazarian, and their next loss being their last? It’s not hard to see a retirement tour in the works here. Daniels is the Head Of Talent Relations backstage, and arguably has more to offer in backstage roles at this point.

Joey Janela Actually Wins A Match On AEW Dynamite

Ending this list on a lighter note, we have to talk about Joey Janela. In 2020, he had wins in AEW. They came on AEW Dark and the Buy-In for All Out. However, he didn’t win any of his matches on the flagship program, Dynamite. His tag team with Sonny Kiss shows promise, and he’s went toe to toe with Cody Rhodes, Lance Archer and more during 2020, but never won a match on Dynamite. My final prediction for AEW this year is that just maybe, he will actually win a match on the show in 2021.

How many of these predictions do you see coming true in 2021? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
