WWE NXT UK Results: Jinny vs. Kay Lee Ray [NXT UK Women’s Championship Match]

Jinny was pivotal in helping KLR beat Niven the second time, and now looks to take the belt for herself. She’s someone who is used to having things handed to her in life, but the one thing money can’t buy is championships. Those need to be won in the ring, and KLR is as tough as they come. Joseph Conners was at ringside to cheer Jinny on, after aligning with her a few weeks back.

Jinny Wants Some Respect From The Champion

A hard lockup started the match, and Jinny went right after the hair of KLR. The referee had to break them apart, after KLR grabbed a handful as well. These two are not known for playing nice. KLR grabbed a wrist lock and forced Jinny down the mat before kicking her in the back of the head. Jinny took a chop, and responded by grabbing the wrist of KLR and taking her to the mat and yelling at her to have some respect.

KLR threw the first big strike of the match, before just mauling Jinny in the corner, using all of the five count. Jinny got quick revenge, but failed to do as much damage, and took a dropkick to the jaw soon after. KLR hit a suplex facebuster for a two count, and was ready to go up top and end this one. Jinny got back to her feet and forced KLR to land awkward, tweaking that previously injured knee before flinging her into the corner.

KLR slipped to the outside, where Jinny gladly followed for some brawling, using the steel steps and apron as weapons. Jinny broke the ten count, before heading back out for some more damage, but got driven into the barricade and face smashed off the apron. KLR got back in the ring, but had to break a pinfall attempt.

Kay Lee Ray Loses Her Rhythm

At this time, the screens that show the WWE fans watching would be hijacked, putting Aoife Valkyrie all over for just a moment. We’d also see Piper Niven, Amale, Dani Luna and more watching this match, all eyes on the top prize. Jinny would remain in control, flinging KLR into the corner and going for another weak cover.

KLR sent Jinny off the ropes, only to have Jinny slip through her legs and apply a tight submission hold. The referee asked if she wanted to quit, and KLR told him to shut the hell up as she struggled to free an arm and get the ropes. Jinny was relentless with some punches to the champion, but still couldn’t take the win.

After throwing softballs all match, Jinny went for a ripcord lariat to try to take KLR out. KLR dodged and braced for a superkick only to take two rolling liger kicks to the head. Jinny would be rocked with a superkick, before the champion collapsed to the mat.

Joseph Conners Gets Overeager

After slowly rising to their feet, champion and challenger would meet in a forearm battle in the middle of the ring. KLR grabbed the wrist of Jinny and launched another superkick, and followed up with a DDT for a near fall. Jinny kicked out, right into a Koji Clutch attempt in the middle of the ring. KLR had the hold locked in tight, but Jinny was able to get KLR’s shoulders on the mat for a pinfall, forcing her to break the hold.

Jinny got a big knee facebuster before a short wrist-clutch lariat for a near fall. Some clubbing blows to the back of the neck showed the frustration of Jinny, before she took a huge slap to the face and the Gory Bomb was set up. Joseph Conners would get on the apron and distracts KLR, allowing Jinny to get a cheap shot and set up the Makeover, and she had the pin!

However, Conners grabbed the ankles of KLR to help, but was caught by the referee and was ejected. Instead, he grabbed the NXT UK Women’s Championship, but couldn’t help Jinny as she was rolled into a superkick. Conners was leaving with the belt, and KLR made chase and slapped him to get her belt back, landing in the ring.

The referee would stop Jinny before she could use the belt as a weapon, and KLR nailed the Gory Bomb for the win. Her reign will live on!
