WWE 205 Live Results: Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell vs. Gigi Dolin & Cora Jade [Dusty Classic Match]

It’s not just Johnny Gargano & Austin Theory who will represent The Way for this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament. Candice LeRae has a protege in Indi Hartwell, and together they look to sweep the female side of the tournament. Theory & Gargano lost to KUSHIDA & Ruff on NXT, leaving LeRae & Hartwell as the only way for The Way to get the Dusty Cup.

Their first round opponents are both new to WWE, those being Gigi Dolin (fka Priscilla Kelly) and Cora Jade (fka Evelyn Black). Kelly is best known for being the ex-wife of AEW star Darby Allin, and for an infamous tampon spot on the indies. Black was a solid member of the GCW roster, and made some recent showings on AEW Dark. This is the first time women have been on 205 Live, making this match historic in it’s own right!

Candice LeRae Leads The Way To Victory

Jade got started with Hartwell, and got dropped right to the mat. A knee lift to the gut stunned Jade, but she quickly tagged Dolin into the match. Hartwell remained in control, and LeRae tagged into the match, and choked Dolin on the ropes. Dolin found an opening to drive LeRae into her corner, and tagged Jade in to hit a Shining Wizard in the corner.

Hartwell distracted Jade to give LeRae a chance to recover, and LeRae started to wrestle this match her way. Jade would be isolated, and Hartwell went for the pin after a big forearm, before applying a cravate. Hartwell lost the hold, but hit a big sidewalk slam tagged LeRae in. A chinlock was applied, and Jade fought free, getting a back elbow to LeRae, and started the long crawl to a tag.

Dolin came in alongside Hartwell, and showed her striking prowess as she cut Hartwell down for a big pump kick to the jaw. Hartwell would defend against a double suplex, and manage to get a delayed vertical suplex on Dolin. Jade was legal however, and got a series of rollups on LeRae, but only got as far as two. LeRae tagged back out to bring Hartwell in, who hit a spin out powerbomb for the win.
