Last night on WWE Backstage, we saw a match between Natalya & Tamina to determine who gets the coveted #30 spot in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. It would be Natalya who won that match, but that wasn’t the notable bit of news to come from her last night. No one thinks Natalya will win a Royal Rumble, even at Number 30 after all. Instead, people are talking about a post to her Instagram story about Trish Stratus.
Natalya Accidentally Spoils Trish Stratus In The Royal Rumble
In a post that was made and quickly deleted, Natalya posted a picture of herself with old friend and fellow Canadian Trish Stratus. This post was screenshotted within a minute of being posted, and shared around the internet by fans due to the caption which read “Can’t wait for this Sunday!” before tagging Stratus herself.
This was a new picture of the two, meaning that Stratus is in Florida, the current home base of all WWE production. We will almost certainly see her enter the Royal Rumble, but could more be in the works?
Another Wrestlemania Match Coming For Status?
What makes this notable is that Stratus has been teasing wanting a match with a certain champion in WWE. While she had a fine retirement match in Toronto with Charlotte Flair at a recent Summerslam, Stratus wants to keep going. In particular, she really wants a match with Sasha Banks. Making things even more interesting is that Sasha Banks is the Smackdown Women’s Champion, and will defend tonight against Carmella.
Stratus showing up and having a strong performance in the Royal Rumble to show she’s still got a lot in the tank could go a long way this Wrestlemania season. We also can’t rule out this veteran winning the match and getting her match with Sasha Banks in that way. That would be a major surprise, even if her involvement in the event has been spoiled.
