There have been some crazy boxing bout organised over the past couple of years, but if Brandon Marshall has his way, then there could be one of the most shocking in history about to take place. Brandon Marshall made a name for himself throughout his NFL career.
But, he is eyeing a potential stunning return to sport, as he has called out former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. Furthermore, the former American Footballer wasn’t short on confidence when discussed a potential bout, as he claimed that would ‘outbox’ the previously undefeated boxer.
Boxing News: Could Shock Fight Happen
Marshall has claimed that he can handle himself in the ring despite never competing in the sport. He has been working with legendary fighter Evander Holyfield, and has set a deadline of September to step foot in the ring. He claimed that if he hasn’t fought by then he would be hanging up his gloves for good. Marshall enjoyed an esteemed career in NFL, as he was played in the Pro Bowl on six occasions throughout his career.
He also remains the NFL record holder for the most interceptions in a game, which was 21. He started his American Football career with the Denver Broncos, before moving on to the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears and New York Jets. The final two seasons that he played in the NFL came with spells at the New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints. He failed to make a single appearance in his final season in the NFL, and recently joined the First Things First team in August last year.
Boxing News: Wilder’s Brother Loses By Ko
It would have certainly been a busy weekend for the Wilder’s, as Deontay’s brother, Marsellos was in action for the eighth time in his professional career over the weekend. However, the air of invincibility that Deontay had enjoyed throughout his career prior to his stunning knockout defeat to Tyson Fury last year looks to have evaded his 31-year-old brother.
Marsellos was up against Dustin Long at the weekend at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He wasn’t able to record a sixth win during his professional career, as he was knocked out for the second time in his career by Long. The defeat means that he has now won just five of his fights and has lost on two occasions.
