AEW Dynamite Preview For 02/17/2021 [Young Bucks Defend Against Santana & Ortiz, Riho Returns To AEW!]

We’re on the road to the next PPV, AEW Revolution, and the card is still taking form. We have two announced matches, but one of them could change tonight. The Young Bucks are set to defend at Revolution against MJF & Chris Jericho, who won a recent battle royal, but tonight against Santana & Ortiz.

We will also see FTR in action, Jon Moxley, Lance Archer & Rey Fenix vs. Eddie Kingston, Butcher & The Blade, the return of former AEW Women’s Champion Riho, and even Orange Cassidy vs. Luther! Let’s break down tonight’s card.

Potential Title Change Ahead As Young Bucks Defend The AEW World Tag Team Championships

Despite them having a defense booked for Revolution, The Young Bucks have set up an extra defense along the way. This is against Santana & Ortiz of The Inner Circle, who removed Matt Jackson from the recent Battle Royale. What makes this so interesting is that Santana & Ortiz have been wanting to prove they are the best tag team in The Inner Circle, and this is their chance.

If they win tonight, Revolution becomes an Inner Circle grudge match over the AEW World Tag Team Championships. They have proven they can beat the Young Bucks at Full Gear 2019, have more motivation than ever, and it fits the current storylines perfectly. Don’t be shocked if they win tonight!

Riho Returns To AEW In The Women’s Eliminator Tournament

This past Monday, we saw four matches from the Japanese bracket of the AEW World Women’s Eliminator Tournament, with Aja Kong, Yuka Sakazaki, Emi Sakura, and Ryo Mizunami all moving forward. On the US side, Thunder Rosa has moved forward, and tonight we will see either NWA Women’s Champion Serena Deeb, or Riho move forward.

The first ever AEW Women’s Champion is back in town, and looking to pick up right where she left off in getting back her title. Riho was stuck in Japan due to the pandemic, but has finally been able to return, and she won’t waste this chance to get a shot at Shida.

Jon Moxley, Lance Archer & Rey Fenix Look To Finish Up With Eddie Kingston

After last week’s huge Falls Count Anywhere main event against Kenny Omega & KENTA, Archer & Moxley team up once again this week. This time, they’re joined by Rey Fenix to finally end issues with Eddie Kingston.

All three men have had to deal with Kingston, Butcher & The Blade, so this six man tag team match might finally be when they’re able to move past The Mad King and his goons. There’s a ton of talent in this one, and it should be a match to remember.

    Also Announced For Dynamite

While those three matches are the biggest matches tonight, AEW Dynamite’s full card has been laid out. FTR will take on Matt & Mike Sydal. Hangman Page & Matt Hardy take on TH2. Orange Cassidy faces Luther. Sting will address Team Taz after the pulled Darby Allin across the parking lot in a body bag.
