In what’s one of the more confusing/interesting storylines, WWE Raw Preview is curious as to whether Shane McMahon is a face at this point.
The last couple of weeks he’s been oddly balanced when dealing with everyone expect Braun Strowman.
A perfect example was how he had the locker room come out for an impromptu lumberjack match so the Miz couldn’t run off with the WWE Championship again.
There’s no doubt the Miz has been a heel while Bobby Lashley and the Hurt Business have been more anti-heros similar to Steve Austin.
Going by that logic, it would mean Shane is a face and Strowman’s a heel. In fact, it seems like he’s following along the lines of a whining heel for not getting his way.
What makes this confusing was Shane setting up a match for the Raw Tag Team Champions last week with Strowman and Adam Pearce teaming together.
They lost after Shane made Strowman tag Pearce in, and Strowman gave Shane an earful as he headed to the back.
Apology time
We have to admit we expected Strowman to interfere in Lashley’s win against the Miz with the way the show had been going and it would’ve spit in Shane’s eye.
But Strowman behaved himself and did nothing of the sort.
So, now he’s going to demand an apology from Shane for the way he’s been treated and we assume he’ll demand the respect he’s earned.
This will continue to muddy the waters as to who to cheer for since we inherently want to boo Shane because of the decades of the McMahons being heels.
But if he’s really a face and he’s trying to coach Strowman into controlling his anger, then could Strowman be the one to push him into being a heel?
Or maybe Shane is the heel and he’s goading Strowman because he blames him for Raw Underground being shut down?
There’s a few possibilities, and while we expect Shane to remain calm he may give Strowman a chance at the WWE Championship to placate him.
It should be interesting as we expect Shane to now apologize as he won’t feel he did anything wrong, and Strowman will lose his cool and take out a few security people along the way.
It definitely looks like we’re going to have Shane and Strowman feuding into WrestleMania with another great match where Shane excels and should put Strowman over big time.
What do you think will happen? Will Shane apologize or continue in his balanced way and infuriate Strowman further? Let WWE Raw Preview know in the comments below.
