It was revealed on Raw last night that there will be two huge title defences taking place on next week’s episode of the flagship show. That announcement may come as a little bit of a surprise for the WWE Universe given that the Fastlane PPV takes place less than a week afterwards, which would have seemed like a more fitting time to have a couple of championship matches. However, could we see a couple of title changes next week as we move ever closer to WrestleMania in April?
WWE News: Tag Team Championships On The Line
One of the matches that has been set for next week will see the Hurt Business defend their Raw Tag Team Championships against the New Day. It has been an exciting couple of weeks for the Hurt Business, as they have quickly emerged as one of the most dominant tag teams in the history of WWE following Bobby Lashley’s WWE Championship win against The Miz.
However, you would be forgiven for forgetting that they are also the tag title holders, as they have faced very little opposition since winning the belts. The very least that this match will be is an entertaining affair, as there is no denying that the two teams have chemistry with each other. A successful defence looks massively likely as the Hurt Business looks to continue their dominance on the red brand leading up to Lashley’s huge defence at Mania in April.
WWE News: United States Championship On The Line
The other match that has been set for next week is one that we teased ourselves, as Mustafa Ali has emerged as a leading player for the United States Championship. The leader of Retribution will be taking on Riddle next week, as Ali looks to win a first piece of silverware since establishing the faction.
In truth, the group could really do with a huge win to re-emerge as a serious faction in the WWE. Another defeat would almost certainly end any traction that they have, and it could be the end of the road. However, a feud between some of the members of the group may not be the wrong way to go, as it would certainly make them at least slightly more interesting.
