WWE Raw Results found Riddle as he startled the New Day and told them about a move he hit on his scooter, then wished them good luck in their match for the tag team championship.
Kingston said tonight’s about the New Day reclaiming their rightful place on top of the mountaintop and Woods told Riddle they can ride off together.
Riddle said they can get matching tattoos and eat pancakes, but the tattoos were a bit much, so he said they can get matching stallions and ride off into the sun set.
WWE Raw Tag Team Championship – The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods)
Woods and Alexander started it off and Alexander took Woods down by his leg and Woods locked in a rear chin lock and then a headlock.
Alexander reversed it into in a wrist lock that Woods countered into a headlock and more counters followed.
Alexander went off the ropes and hit s shoulder block and the two exchange some agile leap frogs and ducks.
Woods locked in a rear waist lock and Alexander reversed it but Wood managed to roll him up for a pin attempt. Woods then hit a single arm takedown and locked in an armbar.
Kingston tagged in and hit a forearm on Alexander after Woods pushed him into Kingston. Alexander then hit Kingston with a kick to the midsection, but Kingston rolled him up for a pin attempt.
Alexander caught him with a reverse elbow and pulled Kingston over for Benjamin to blind tag in.
Alexander flipped Kingston into Benjamin for a spinebuster for a near pinfall.
Benjamin knocked Woods off the apron with a knee to the face and hit a couple of body slams on Kingston.
Alexander tagged in and ground a knee into Kingston’s face while Benjamin threw Woods into the ring steps.
Benjamin tagged back in and he hit a reverse elbow on Kingston off the ropes and Alexander followed it with a dropkick for Benjamin to go for the pin.
Alexander came back in and hit a couple of shoulders on Kingston, then put him on the top rope.
Kingston fought out of the corner and hit an Airforce One to Alexander’s face.
Woods came in and dropped Alexander with a couple of clothesline and nailed Benjamin on the apron.
He then hit a heel kick off the ropes, and nailed Benjamin with a forearm, sending him to the floor.
Woods tripped Alexander into the ropes and hit a dropkick on his back, and then went for a suplex, but settled with an elbow and Alexander rolled to the floor.
The New Day dove through the ropes, but Benjamin caught Kingston and threw him into the ring steps and Alexander redirected Woods into the announce table as we headed to commercial.
Expected twist
Back from commercial, they were back in the ring with Woods and Alexander trading blows.
Woods caught him with a forearm in the ropes, and Alexander hit with a clothesline in the ropes. Woods returned the favor with a clothesline, and Alexander hit him in the back across the ring.
Alexander then caught him with a knee and a Mishinoku driver for a near pinfall.
Woods caught Alexander with a superkick to buy himself some time.
Tags were made and Benjamin hit a spinning kick on Kingston for a near pinfall.
Benjamin sent Kingston into the corner, but Kingston leaped onto the ropes and hit a hurricanranna and a double knee for a near pinfall.
Benjamin hit with a face slam, and Kingston hit an SOS for another near pinfall.
Kingston readied to finish it, but Benjamin ducked a Trouble in Paradise, then he ran into a boot.
Kingston caught him with a forearm and headed to the top rope, but Benjamin leaped up and hit a superplex for a pin attempt Woods broke up.
Woods went Alexander to the floor with a step up kick and followed it with a DDT on the fllor.
Benjamin tried to roll Kingston up but Kingston slipped free and hit a Touble in Paradise.
Alexander hit an elbow drop from the top rope, and Kingston hit a double stomp off the top rope while Woods held Benjamin for the win.
Great match and the outcome wasn’t a surprise, but the Hurt Business should’ve kept it. The WWE needs to develop more teams so there’s more than four or five in contention.
Not the team building we mean
After the match, AJ Styles came out with Omos to interrupt the New Day’s celebration.
Styles and Omos entered the ring and Styles congratulated them on their 11th win.
Styles said he doesn’t care how many it is, and he said he and Omos currently don’t have anything planned for WrestleMania.
He listed his accomplishments and said his bucket list is getting low and Omos had a great idea.
He gave Omos the chance to say what his idea was, and Omos said they should be Raw Tag Team Champions.
The New Day said they’re not a team and Styles said now they are and they officially challenged the New Day for the tag titles at WrestleMania.
Kingston asked if they’re registered as a team or know how to work as a team, but most of all, Woods told them they have their match.
If Styles and Omos don’t destroy them in Omos’ in ring debut this will be a waste. But is there really anything else to expect when it feels like it was slapped together at the last second?
