After a crushing loss to Rampage Brown which was essentially a number one contenders match, Joe Coffey spent some time away from NXT UK. He’s back, and now with Gallus no longer the NXT UK Tag Team Champions, it’s time to get Gallus boys back on top. What better way to start than to take the fight to Eddie Dennis & The Hunt, starting with a singles match between Dennis & Coffey tonight on NXT UK. An encounter on Supernova Sessions last week is what triggered this feud, and it will only escalate after what should be a hard hitting fight.
Joe Coffey & Eddie Dennis Are Equally Matched
They’d lock up to start this match, with Dennis shoving Coffey to the ropes. A break would be brief, before Dennis came back in. Coffey dodged and hit some punches, before pouncing Dennis out of the ring. He’d follow Dennis out, and drive him into the apron before sending him into the ring.
Coffey would look to throw some punches at Dennis, who applied a headlock. Dennis absorbed some strikes before using his judo background to toss Coffey to the mat. Coffey was stuck in a cravate, and would have a hard time getting free. He’d only get free when Dennis decided to hit a knee drop before going back into the hold.
Second time it wasn’t applied as tight, and Coffey tossed Dennis aside with a scoop slam. Looking for a running headbutt would be a mistake, as Dennis sidestepped sending Coffey crashing into the turnbuckle, before he was caught with a cravate suplex for a two count.
All Hell Breaks Loose
Dennis would throw some hard strikes to Coffey, including a back elbow to the face which dropped him. Coffey got up and hit the ropes, only to end up being hit with a swinging sidewalk slam for a two count. Dennis would keep dodging the strikes of Coffey until a spinning headbutt caught him.
Coffey followed up with an overhead belly to belly suplex, and a running shoulder block to keep Dennis down. He’d look for a German Suplex off the mat but Dennis fought free. Coffey went for the springboard crossbody, but was instead caught with a tossing Razors Edge for a near fall.
Dennis would look to follow up with a driver, but get a spinebuster onto the mat and locked in the Boston Crab in the middle of the ring. T-Bone and Primate would rush the ring to save Dennis, who got a near fall off a roll up. Wolfgang & Mark Coffey would take out The Hunt, and Coffey hit the springboard crossbody, Glasgow Sendoff and Black Coffey lariat for the win.
After the bell, Primate & T-Bone beat Coffey down before Gallus again made the save. Who will come out on top when this feud is done? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
