WWE Smackdown Results returned as Teddy Long thanked Sonya Deville for the stipulation she gave him for Rollins and Cesaro.
She said when she heard Pearce was unavailable she thought she’d be running solo but is so glad he’s there.
Sami Zayn came up to Long and explained there’s a conspiracy against him and he knows Long isn’t in it and asked for his match for the Intercontinental Championship.
Long told him he’ll face the Undertaker, and when Zayn said he’s retired Long said he’ll be in a tag team match with Apollo Crews.
Zayn told him he doesn’t want to be in a tag match with Crews since he’s the Intercontinental Championship.
Long told him he’ll need all the help he can get against Big E, Kevin Owens, the Street Profits, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
It’s a 10 man tag match against Zayn, Crews, Commander Azeez, Chad Gable, and King Booker. Er, Long meant King Corbin.
Reign’s lecture falls flat
Reigns told Jimmy he’s there for one hour and after he gave him the spotlight and he screwed it up.
He said now he’s got to treat Jimmy like a baby and clean up after him.
Jimmy told him he doesn’t talk to him like he does Jey, and he’s not anybody’s b*tch,
Jey went after Jimmy to smooth it over.
Ruby Riott w/Liv Morgan vs. Carmella
They locked up and Carmella backed Riott to the ropes, and Riott pivoted and backed her into the corner and then broke the hold cleanly.
Carmella shoved he and then ducked Riott’s clothesline and moonwalked across the ring.
Riot locked in a side headlock and was sent into the ropes, and she hit a shoulder block on Carmella.
Riott then hit a kick to the midsection and wetn for a suplex, but Carmella landed on her feet and slammed Riott to the mat.
Carmella hit a couple of lefts to Riott’s midsection and threw her into the corner.
Riott then caught her with a leg scissors and drove Carmella’s head into the second turnbuckle.
Riott then hit a series of lefts and locked in a wrist lock for a leg sweep/Rock Bottom for a pin attempt.
Riott then headed to the second rope but Carmella caught her with a couple of kicks and used the ropes for leverage in her pin attempt.
They exchanged rollups before Carmella locked in the Cone of Silence for the submission win. This was the typical fast match that drives WWE Smackdown Results crazy.
We’d love to see them go for 15 minutes or so. What did you all think?
