Tyron Woodley Is FIRED UP For Jake Paul Bout: “Ain’t sh*t you can do. You getting your a$$ beat!”

Tyron Woodley’s three-fight losing streak in the Octagon hasn’t just led him to music videos. Woodley will fight Jake Paul in the boxing ring, most likely on August 28.

Jake Paul rose to fame on YouTube, although if you’re of legal voting age you’d probably never heard of him until his boxing match with Ben Askren. Paul knocked Askren out in the first round, and although many fight fans claim the bout was fixed, it did leave the YouTuber with an undefeated record.

“Ain’t sh*t you can do. You getting your ass beat!” – Tyron Woodley is FIRED UP for Paul bout

Fight fans have speculated about this upcoming bout ever since backstage footage of Paul’s team talking smack to Tyron Woodley at the Askren bout. At this fight, Woodley served as cornerman for his longtime teammate, where he had the misfortune of watching as Paul knocked Askren to the canvas in the first round.

Woodley took to Instagram to detail his feelings on the matter:

“Now, you got a motherf*cker that’s going to fight you like you ain’t never been fought before. Ain’t no sparring you can do to motherf*cking get ready for it. Ain’t no meditation. Ain’t no kum ba yah. Ain’t no mama se mama sa mama coosa. Ain’t sh*t you can do. You getting your ass beat. I’m pumped up about it.”

Woodley went on to say that “We gonna break some records, and I’m going to break a motherf*cking jaw while I’m at it”.

Tyron Woodley recently exited the UFC following a four-fight losing streak. Although at his peak, Woodley was widely considered to be one of the greatest Welterweight champions of all time, a one-sided loss to Kamaru Usman heralded the beginning of the end. Since then, Woodley lost an additional three fights. The former champ was waylaid by injuries to his hand, and seemed a shadow of his former self. Woodley’s four-fight loss led to his departure from the UFC.

Jake Paul has yet to fight a boxer in the boxing ring. His opponents have consisted of a basketballer and Ben Askren, who was a world-class Olympic wrestler. Tyron Woodley, like Ben Askren, is better known for his wrestling than his striking.

Unlike Askren, Woodley nurtured stronger striking ability than your average wrestler. Tyron Woodley has knocked out seven of his opponents, often in the early rounds of a fight. Whether this will translate to the boxing ring is another story, but Woodley is several steps above Askren in terms of his sheer fighting ability.

At least, Woodley was – his recent showings in the Octagon have been disappointing, often one-sided affairs where Tyron found himself dominated by other opponents. There’s no shame in losing a fight to Gilbert Burns or Colby Covington, but following that with a loss to Jake Paul would doubtless pull some of the spring from Woodley’s step.

Can Tyron Woodley’s skills in the Octagon translate to the boxing ring? Is he just looking for one final payday before he retires, with no care for the result? Let us know in the comments.
