Brian Ortega believes it’s Alexander Volkanovski who is two-faced, and not the other way around. Things are starting to heat up between the two, who just spent weeks together filming season 29 of “The Ultimate Fighter.” It’s expected to be until the fall when UFC featherweight champion Volkanovski defends his title against Brian Ortega, but that hasn’t stopped the two from exchanging criticism.
After the filming of the program, Volkanovski accused Ortega of being untruthful and uncomfortable. The Australian said he got tired of dealing with him. Although he later admitted that he’s probably looking for a reason to hate him, he didn’t seem to be too fanatical about Ortega’s personality.
Brian Ortega lashes out at Volkanovski for calling him a “phony” person.
Ortega took to Twitter to respond to Volkanovski, claiming for what he considers an unfounded assertion.
@alexvolkanovski when you show me respect in person then turn around and get on a podcast and call me fake, says more about you then me. Even when @joerogan asked you why you had nothing to back up your statement.

“Alexander Volkanovski when you show me respect in person, then turn around and show up on a podcast and call me a fake, it says more about you than it does about me. Even when Joe Rogan asked you why, you had nothing to back up your statement.”
In a since-deleted tweet, Volkanovski responded to Ortega.
“Well, I said ‘maybe I’m just looking for things to hate about him’ but I also said ‘he blows up easily’.”
Maybe they’re just trying to boost ratings for TUF’s opening day, but Ortega isn’t usually one to try to manufacture rivalries. Volkanovski stated that he and his team played numerous pranks on Ortega throughout the show, trying to bait their future foe.
Their fight was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 260 in March. Unfortunately, Volkanovski was forced to withdraw after contracting COVID. After filming the show’s return, his fight is now expected to be rescheduled. The highly anticipated matchup will mark Ortega’s second title shot.
