Drake Bell has been shockingly charged with offences relating to the harm of children.
Nickelodeon’s Drake Bell Has Been Charged With Child Related Offences
The musician/actor became a teenage star ever since his time on Nickelodeon’s ‘Drake and Josh.’ While he pleaded not guilty to those offences, he has been ordered to return for a trial set to take place next month so as to determine the outcome of the case.
According to a spokesperson for the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office, Drake had allegedly sent ‘the victim inappropriate social media messages’ after they came across each other at a concert that she had attended. The victim, at the time, was a minor.
As such, there were clear safeguarding concerns over whether Drake had been taking advantage of a teenager who could not show any consent. And things look even grimmer as the “investigation revealed that the victim..had established a relationship with Bell several years prior, [to his concert/].”
This is not the first time that Drake has gotten himself on to the wrong side of the law in relation to the opposite sex. In 2020, his ex-girlfriend Melissa Lingafelt accused the musician of abusing her. And Melissa was very vocal about how she had concrete evidence which showed systemic verbal and physical abuse.
During a prior post on her TikTok, she said: “Imagine the worst type of verbal abuse you could ever imagine, and that was what I got….My face hit every step on the way down. I have photos of this…I don’t even want to get into the underage girls thing. I mean, I will, but I’m scared.”
Drake, for his part, denied that he had done any wrongdoing. He felt this was an attempt by Melissa to garner some publicity, especially since he had given her financial support during their relationship. In response to the allegations, he said: “I never abused my ex-girlfriend or did so many of the other things Melissa falsely claimed.
“We, unfortunately, both called each other terrible names, as often happens when couples are breaking up. But that is it.” With an investigation still ongoing, we are no closer to the truth.
