UFC 263: Leon Edwards’ BRUTAL prediction for Nate Diaz!

Nate Diaz will make a welcome return to the Octagon this weekend. He’ll be taking on Leon Edwards at UFC 263, with Edwards predicting a rare stoppage win against the man from Stockton.

“I’m going in here to stop him,” claimed Edwards. “I don’t think he can take as much as they think he could over five rounds”.

Leon Edwards BRUTAL prediction for Nate Diaz

Diaz, over the course of his career, has proven himself time and again to be one of the toughest fighters in the division. Nate Diaz has only ever been finished three times in his 32-fight career. That’s impressive, but Edwards has never been knocked out or submitted.

“I’ve never been stopped in my career. Every time I’ve fought all five rounds, I’ve got the decision. I’ve never been submitted. Never been knocked out. Nothing. I’m looking forward to it. I’m going in there just where I left off in March and I will carry on like that to get the victory. I will test him and push him in every single way I can to get the victory. To claim my world title shot after this fight.”

Edwards’ last loss came against Kamaru Usman way back in 2015. Edwards lost via unanimous decision against the Nigerian, who went on to become Welterweight champion of the world. Leon Edwards clearly wants a rematch against the Nigerian Nightmare, as both men have exceeded themselves repeatedly since they last met.

Leon Edwards, born in Jamaica and raised in Birmingham, England, is on an eight-fight win streak. His list of notable victories includes Rafael dos Anjos, Gunnar Nelson, Vicente Luquem, and Donald Cerrone. Nate Diaz hasn’t fought since his doctor stoppage loss against Jorge Masvidal, at which the Miami man claimed the UFC’s “BMF” belt.

In fact, Nate Diaz has fought only three times in the past five years. One of these was the aforementioned Masvidal stoppage, another came in a decision loss to Conor McGregor, and the other a decision win over Anthony Pettis. Nate Diaz is undoubtedly one of the biggest personalities in the UFC, and one of The Ultimate Fighter’s earliest stars.

Whether Diaz has another win in him, or if a younger, hungrier fighter will win out, remains to be seen. Both Nate Diaz and Leon Edward are extraordinarily tough men with chins of pure granite. What are your predictions for the fight? Can Leon Edwards do what only three others have done and finish Nate Diaz? Will Nate Diaz bounce back from a long period of inactivity and assert himself as one of the MMA greats? Let us know in the commments.
