When Becky Lynch showed back up in WWE to challenge Bianca Belair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, no one expected her to win in mere seconds. Belair might have been caught off guard, but a loss is a loss. It was a bad look for the rising star, but tonight at Extreme Rules she has a chance to take her championship back from Lynch. However tonight, there will be no excuses.
Crowd Is Split 50/50
Lynch still got a huge reaction despite being a heel now, and a much bigger one than Belair. Belair did fine as champion, but The Man is back in town. A handshake was offered, but Belair didn’t fall for it this time. Lynch would grab the Manhandle Slam, but Belair almost got a Kiss of Death. Things got closer to being split down the middle as the match started crowd wise, but Belair almost got caught in the Disarmher.
Lynch was slammed off the corners, before Belair hit a big splash for a two count. She’d take some time to regroup on the outside and verbally harass Micheal Cole. Somewhere, Bayley is smiling, but Belair nailed a tackle and got her into the ring. Lynch tried to escape, before taking Belair down for some sliding knee and elbow strikes. She’d miss the leg drop, and Belair hoisted her up only to be yanked down by her hair.
Some big knee strikes would be followed up with another Disarmher attempt, but she’d settle for the Bexploder Suplex. A camel clutch was applied, but Belair somehow countered into a suplex. Belair would pick up some momentum with some dropkicks, before another suplex. She’d go for a stalling variant, letting the blood flow to the head of Lynch, before getting Lynch grabbed the long braid.
Sasha Banks Is Back
Belair would pull Lynch into a spinebuster, but only got a two count. Crossbody was caught into a Fallaway Slam, but Lynch got her foot on the bottom rope. Belair would go for a big press slam, but was caught in the Disarmher in the middle of the ring, but would struggle to the ropes. Lynch hit the diving leg drop, and still Belair survived.
Another leg drop, this time to the back of the neck – still no three count. Manhandle Slam was countered, but a suplex would countered into a cross armbreaker. Belair used a spinebuster, before just throwing some slugging blows at Lynch. They’d trade roll up attempts, but Lynch got the Disarmher again. Belair powered her up into Kiss of Death, and Sasha Banks ran in, making her return.
She’d beat down both Belair & Lynch, showing that there’s no friendships here – just title hopes. Could Banks regain the Smackdown Women’s Championship? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
