With hype back on for Final Battle with the announcement that fans are coming back once again to Ring of Honor, the road is on. Tonight we have a few matches with championship implications – including the first match to set up the first challenger for Rok-C as ROH World Women’s Champion.
A Big Night For Shane Taylor Promotions
Kicking off the show we have Moses & Kaun of Shane Taylor Promotions taking on the odd but talented duo of Dalton Castle & Dak Draper. They have the skills but are too interested in being entertaining… in an empty arena. It was a hard fight all the same, with Kaun able to match the wrestling skills of Castle – while Moses matched the size of Draper. Add in more tag team experience, and it was a win for them after an assisted implant DDT.
Following the match, and still bitter about their loss to Shane Taylor Promotions at Death Before Dishonor, La Faccion Ingornable members and ROH World Tag Team Champions Kenny King & Dragon Lee attacked. However, S.O.S were right back up, and demanding a title shot for this – which was accepted.
Willow Claims Triple Threat Win, OGK Overcome Bandido & Rey Horus
We’d catch up with the ROH Women’s division next, with Willow taking on Angelina Love & Miranda Alize in a triple threat match. This is the first of two triple threats to determine who will face Rok-C at Final Battle. It was a hard fought battle, with Love showing her veteran instincts and picking her spots wisely. However, Willow would get a roll up on Alize for the win.
In the main event, we’d get to see the ROH World Champion in action. Bandido would team with friend and ally Rey Horus to take on The OGK. It was an insanely fast paced tag team contest – Matt Taven once again showing he’s one of the more underrated names in the ring these days. Everyone got time to shine, but Bandido was taken out on the outside, and Horus was dropped with a backpack stunner. Bandido didn’t take the fall – but a win over the World Champion is a win over the World Champion.
