Last year, Kenny Omega won the first ever World Title Eliminator Tournament by defeating Hangman Page to earn a shot at Jon Moxley. He would turn this into a dominant title reign – which has led him to Hangman Page again at Full Gear. Page was able to defeat the field in a Casino Ladder match to make his way back to a championship level – and tonight he speaks on what that means to him.
Hangman Page Explains What Cowboy Shit Means
On November 13th, Page meets his old tag team partner at Full Gear. Page is excited for this. In 2019, Page was excited to start AEW alongside Omega & The Bucks – but the world changed them instead of them changing the world. Page on day one, claimed he’d be AEW World Champion – and he failed. He lost Jericho, lost to PAC, and then lost his confidence and friends.
Truthfully, he lost himself. Page would gain fans though. The AEW crowds got louder and louder. Cowboy Shit is a common chant, and it means taking every shot that you get. It means calling your shot, getting new friends, and giving your chance to try and help those friends. Cowboy Shit means turning around and being home to be with family when his son was born, even when it meant missing All Out.
Last week, he picked up the phone and put his body on the line. He grabbed the chip, got back on the horse to blaze ahead. That is cowboy shit. He knows the AEW fans believe in him, and at Full Gear – he will give fans everything. Page will give his blood, his guts, and one way or another probably his tears. If nothing else, he gives the fans some COWBOY SHIT!
This was an all time promo, with shades of Dusty Rhodes mixed in. Page is the common man of a modern era. It was basically a modern version of Hard Times, and resonated deep in a way that promos often won’t.
