The actress has made no secret over her passion for sex toys, and yet, when Moses discovered what his mother did, he was speechless, to say the least.
However, after the initial shock wore off, the 15-year-old took a more liberal view of his mother’s passion. Appearing on the ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, Gwyneth recalled the encounter: “A few months ago, he said, ‘Mom, I was really embarrassed for a minute that Goop sold vibrators.
“Then I realized that, no, this is great. You’re making people feel not embarrassed to buy something, and that’s great!”
‘Goop’ is a wellness and lifestyle brand founded by the Hollywood actress. In 2008, Gwyneth launched Goop from her kitchen. Since then, it has grown rapidly. The website sells anything from health & beauty products to kitchen appliances.
But now people can buy adult toys to please their partners. On her six-part Netflix series, ‘The Goop Lab‘, Gwyneth and the team talk to experts as they plunge into a variety of topics concerning female gratification.
The reaction on social media to Gwyneth’s comments has been divisive, though. On the one hand, it’s great that Gwyneth is willing to openly talk about these topics and spread awareness.
On the other hand, is it fair to ask whether such topics are suitable to be discussed with your younger children? Gwyneth, for her part, shares two children with her ex-husband Chris Martin: Moses and Apple.
Despite getting divorced in 2014, the pair remain close. However, it isn’t clear whether Chris holds the same interests as his ex-wife, who is a firm believer in keeping ‘sex’ an open topic for discussion with her children.
When speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Gwyneth stated: “I try to just be curious, and teenagers are never going to want to talk to their parents about sex, ever.
“I sort of follow their lead, and luckily, in middle school, they had a very thorough sex education.” Regardless of what you think about Gwyneth, it is safe to say that she does not care what others think.
