Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been charged on the grounds of sexual misconduct in what has been a shocking revelation.

According to reports, Andrew has been accused of doing this to 11 different women. Some of the alleged actions include groping and kissing in an inappropriate manner. And by the looks of it, the authorities have taken charge already.
The authorities in charge have had this to say: “[The defendant is] guilty of forcible touching when such person intentionally, and for no legitimate purpose forcibly touches the sexual or other intimate parts of another person.”
Things are not looking good for Andrew. Although he has denied doing anything of the sort, this charge has raised serious concerns. First of all, there has always been worries over the role of people within the political sphere.
Even if Andrew is declared innocent, there is a feeling that people would no longer be able to trust him in such a position. Secondly, given that the incidents alleged were deemed to be sometime in 2020, there is the question over why did this take so long.
If he is found guilty, Andrew could face some serious punishment. His aspirations of a political career would certainly be over, but much more than that, there is a chance that he could end up doing some time.
As of now, that is believed to be a year in jail or up to three years on probation. The response on social media, though, has been divisive.
Supporters of the MetooMovement have welcomed this, as it shows that victims have a voice in holding powerful people to account. Having said that, supporters of Andrew see it as a way of attacking his character without all the facts coming to light.
In a post on Twitter, one user remarked: “This whole thing is nothing more than a smear campaign for others to benefit. It’s an absolute disgrace what they’re trying to do to you.”
The only thing that people can do is rely on the justice system to come up with a resolution. And on current reflection, things are not looking good for Andrew.
