Since making her debut as the Joker in the Casino Battle Royale at AEW All Out, Ruby Soho has been determined to finally make her mark on national TV. Her time in WWE saw nothing but failed factions and short matches, with WWE seemingly unwilling to showcase the skills of Soho to their full extent. However, things changed quickly in AEW. She would be in the main event of their biggest show to date, and is now a frontrunner to become the inaugural TBS Champion – a belt she feels is crucial to the story of her career as a whole.
Ruby Soho Needs The TBS Championship To Validate Her Career
While speaking with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Soho would explain just what the TBS Championship means to her. Simply put – it’s validation. But in her own words, here is the full statement from Soho.
“It would mean everything. It would be validation first for the last 11 years of my career. It’s not just validation since I’ve been here. It’s been validation since my previous time with WWE, my previous time in the independents working for 10 bucks and driving 12 hours and cars breaking down and things like that. I have never held a title on national television in the time span that I’ve been a part of and I really feel this is something that making history and being the first and representing the title with honor and fighting tooth and nail, like really defend it, would mean the world to me and I am going to do absolutely everything that i can to be that first champion.”

Her Path To Victory Will Not Be Easy
She’s off to a great start on making her dream true. On the October 23rd episode of AEW Dynamite, she was able to push past an equally motivated Penelope Ford, making the next round. Her next opponent is the intergalactic powerhouse herself, Kris Statlander. Statlander got a first round bye due to her spot in the top five rankings, alongside Nyla Rose, Thunder Rosa, and Jade Cargill.
If she gets past Statlander, she will be facing the winner of the coming match between Hikaru Shida & Nyla Rose. That one can go either way, but after a post-match beatdown from Serena Deeb to Shida? Rose could be a lock for the win there. Soho vs. Rose could be a David vs. Goliath match done right, and it’s a winnable match for both. The finals is something that is hard to guess.
