A TikTok sensation has gone viral after his actions led to a police chase with speeds reaching over 100 mph.

The defendant, who goes by the name of Damaury Mikula, is well known to the social media community. According to reports, he has over 4 million followers on TikTok.

This does beg the question, why would such a star decide to get involved in a police chase? Well, it looks as though he was doing it deliberately on the basis of trying to raise his social media clout.
He is apparently earning around $400,000 a year from his brand. And yet, this could be about to change in light of the following information.
It is alleged that Damaury decided to intentionally let smoke come out from his car by screeching the tyres while the car was at a standstill. This was done near a stop sign, where there was a police officer nearby.
Thereafter, it is claimed that he ran over a red light. Soon after, the police chased him, and once they caught up to him, he refused to pull over. In fact, he put his foot down on the accelerator to get away from them.
However, it was to no avail as the police managed to apprehend him. His response to being caught was outlandish, to say the least.
Rather than fearing for the fact that he could do some time behind bars or face a hefty fine, Damaury attempted to use his social media following as a way to get out of trouble.
W. Kelly, who happens to work for the Florida Highway Patrol, spoke on how Damaury’s behaviour was irrational: “Mr Mikula advised his state of mind was that he is young, makes a lot of money, and has a fast car and he can do whatever he wants.
“Mr. Mikula advised he wanted to do something fun for three seconds, and it cost him.” It is probably wise that Damaury takes some time off to get his thoughts together.
