During the promotion of his album Wonder, Shawn talked about how close he’s always been with Camila (even before they started dating), telling Entertainment Tonight, “She’s been one of my best friends since I was, like, 15 years old.”
Despite reports and their deep friendship, he also stated that they were not rushing into an engagement. “I know we’re young,” Shawn explained, “so I don’t want to rush in too soon,” but, “I think when you find your person, you feel and know you’ve found your person.” By all accounts, they were still going strong. Fans have learned a lot about their connection since then.
Mendes has a habit of talking nasty in his sleep and that they have gone to therapy together. Their fans saw them go on strange hikes, and even created an Instagram account for their dog.
Pop Stars Announce Their Breakup
The pop stars couple had been dating for about two years, recently they shared a joint statement on Instagram on Wednesday, announcing the end of their love engagement. “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship,” the statement adds, “but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever.”
They also added, “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.” Cabello and Mendes also signed the statement, which they shared on their verified Instagram profiles.
