When fans look back to the attitude era, the best wrestling came from their excellent tag team division. The Dudley Boyz, New Age Outlaws, Team Extreme, The A.P.A and Edge & Christian among others. However, the trio of Dudleyz, Hardys, and Edge & Christian brought some of the best matches. These feuds would blend into singles feuds down the line, and now long past the days of TLC 2 – Edge & Jeff Hardy want one more round.
Jeff Hardy & Edge Were Strong Rivals In 2008 & 2009
Aside from the blood feud that was Matt Hardy vs. Edge, the best feud to come from those teams was Jeff Hardy & Edge. They battled over the WWE & World Heavyweight Championships in the late 2000’s, with their last singles title match coming at Extreme Rules 2009 in a Ladder Match that Jeff won… before CM Punk cashed in Money In The Bank.
The matches between Edge & Jeff were always high quality, and even now both remain very capable in the ring. Edge has proven he’s as great as ever with performances in the 2021 Royal Rumble, Hell in a Cell against Seth Rollins, and an epic bout for the WWE Universal Championship. Hardy recently got crowds unglued in the final moments of a Survivor Series match, falling to Seth Rollins.
One More Round For Them In 2022?
Both men still can go, and they want one more big match before either retires again. Hardy would mention the following while speaking with SportsBIBLE.
“Actually, last month I spoke to Edge and he said something, ‘I think we gotta do it one more time’. Totally. Even in the rumble last year, I didn’t last no time – I was in and out and he won the rumble. I had said beforehand that it would be cool if me and Edge had this face off, just for a moment because of our history. As long as he keeps his health and I keep mine, that’s another big match.”
Hardy would also discuss wanting to get another run as World Champion by facing Roman Reigns. The full interview can be found here.
