Kyle Rittenhouse has stoked the hatred of some right-wing supporters in response to an interview that he had given following his acquittal to Fox News.
Kyle Rittenhouse Slammed By Right-Wing Supporters For Supporting Black Lives Matter-‘This Terror Organisation’
Kyle was recently declared not guilty, despite his actions leading to the death of two people and an injury to another at a protest held following the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
Many of his supporters felt that the verdict was a victory, given that Kyle had no racial motivation behind the attacks. As such, people felt that Kyle would continue to stick by his guns and call out what they perceived to be overzealous supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement, which has been criticised for being too violent at times.
While that verdict would have pleased many right-wing groups, it looks as though they have now turned against him. Kyle had decided to conduct an interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News.
It was here where Kyle’s support for Black Lives Matter sent his supporters into anger. In the interview, Kyle had said: “I’m not a racist person. I support the BLM movement. I support peacefully protesting.”
The response on social media was very mixed. Although some people did praise Kyle for acknowledging that there are racial problems that do need tackling within the United States, others felt that his words were disingenuous.
They claimed this was a PR move designed to improve his reputation. And with that, many of his supporters were outraged. One person wrote: “So does that mean he supports the rioting, looting, killing, and burning down businesses that this fascist BLM crowd does? If true, think I’ll take a pass on any donations.”
While another stated: “I don’t understand how such a nice kid can support this terror organisation. On the other hand, he’s only 18. He’ll learn.”
It is understandable that Kyle wants to get his story across given what he has been through, but on reflection, it is probably a wise move that he keeps a low profile until this story does die down a little.
