Cody Rhodes‘ feud with Malakai Black has grown out of control. It started with two men, and then Andrade El Idolo was pulled out. He brought PAC along. PAC brought Lucha Bros, who brought FTR. Now two men become eight, and we have a massive tag team match tonight on Dynamite! Surely it can’t grow any bigger, right? It’s already basically an all-star game for AEW, and both sides are equally matched. Time for talk is over – let’s get this main event going.
Cody Rhodes Couldn’t Give His Belt To This Crowd
One by one these allstars came out, but you gotta remember that PAC & Rhodes didn’t work well with each other at Full Gear. However, he’s the odd one out – Death Triangle is a well oiled machine. Rhodes would start with Harwood, but fans got a taste of the good stuff with Fenix staring down Black before the bell. Harwood drove Rhodes into the corner, but allowed a clean break before being run down with a shoulder tackle.
Drop down throat thrust and powerslam would follow, before Rhodes got a tag to PAC.
He’d take the fight to Harwood, picking up right where they left off after their recent singles match. Wheeler got the tag, but PAC kept control with some smart chain wrestling. PAC tagged in Penta, who nailed a dropkick right to the tailbone from the top rope.
Andrade would get the tag and dove onto Penta, before Fenix tagged in. Outsped by Fenix, he’d take a hurricanrana and dropkick. Rhodes tagged himself in, and got lured into the wrong corner for a beatdown – which the crowd loved. Fenix & Black would get legal, and start exchanging heavy blows, with Tully Blanchard helping Black slow Fenix down.
Andrade & Malakai Black Seal The Win
Black would unload in the corner with some heavy kicks, before tagging in Andrade – who at some point pulled his pants off. Harwood came in and slowed the pace down to something Fenix dislikes, only to take a big backdrop. Harwood and Tully would choke Fenix on the ropes as Wheeler ran the distraction. Fenix finally had a chance for a tag off a big kick, and Penta was right in.
He rolled through Andrade before a double DDT on FTR, before a backstabber on Andrade for a two count. PAC was in alongside Harwood, and he’d run him down. Black ran in and took a German Suplex, before Andrade & Black took the Fosbury Flop over the top. PAC would kick Andrade out before Wheeler nailed a huge Backbreaker. Penta hit Made in Japan, Harwood hit a piledriver.
Black hit a kneestrike, and Rhodes tried to throw his belt to the crowd for a second time before kicking PAC in the face. Regardless, he was ready for the suplex into the corner. Tully & Arn took the ring. The crowd loved this, and Lucha Bros took advantage to take out FTR. PAC got Black Mist, and Andrade hit El Idolo for the win.
